Shokugeki no Soma was already against the odds when it got a second and third season, most of the anime don't go further than the first.
What jump anime that were not long running didnt get an s2??? It seems the norm for most wsj series to get at least a second season and even a third though.

Did I say Jump anime in any moment? I said animes, animes in general.
Yeah, even Medaka Box had a second season so virtually anything can get a second season in Jump, but further than that, only the most profitable ones.

Medaka Box was a split-cour.

It had more going on with Assassination Classroom than a license in China, for Pete's sake. XD

It depends. By season 2 do you mean two cours? Or an actual season 2? Pretty much all of the one cour series are only that long because they dont have enough content for more episodes (Hatsukoi Limited). Ichigo 100% is one of the few that was long enough to have more, but only had 12 eps. Neuro got 25 eps but never a 2nd season, as did Buso Renkin, Black Cat, Hoshin Engi (not counting the remake) and technically Medaka Box among others. While I

So it can actually finish anytime he wants since there is no plot at all anyway, just make her pass on and it is done. lol
I thought it was something more serious in terms of plot given the amount of attorneys it has here.
Because it gets complicated as the plot unravels. Also, I don't know if the author plans to continue past 3 years of high school, or he will end it after graduation. Right now the timeline is sometime after Golden Week of Year 2.

The arc in Yuragi is very short, a big major arc is about 5 chapters long. So if no more episodic chapter, the author can fit 4~5 arcs in 6 months. I only said this since someone mentions Yuragi dangerous TOC's placement~

It's still gucci ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Shokugeki is pretty popular in China and there's been plenty of reports from Japan that says streaming sites in China have contributed to the growth in the anime industry for years while BD/DVD sales are declining. Saying streaming licenses are peanuts is pretty ignorant. According to The Wall Street journnal, a single episode of Gintama sells for $100,000.

Anime Industry in Japan grow to 17.7 billion dollars in one year.

Crunchyroll, one of the biggest western stream site, contribute 100 million dollars over the past 10 years.
You also know it cost around $100,000 to produce one single episode right?

I can already imagine the racial puns that 4chan users are going to have a blast using with a name like Ziga

Judging by the boring PV, that's probably the most enjoyment they'll get from the manga :3c

If you show someone City Hunter and say this is from Weekly Shounen Jump they'll laugh at you. Can't wait, will def see the first episode.

It's also one of many classic SJ series that don't have complete translation.

I have faith in Rokudenashi Blues anime announcement. I mean, 50th Jump anniversary + 30th Rokudenashi anniversary

Just finished 3rd season of Shokugeki anime, and the fact of the Shokugeki anime still having new seasons, makes me think that's because of the streaming licences, the anime is really popular outside of the Japan

https://myanimelist.net/anime/35788/Shokugeki_no_Souma__San_no_Sara

So that's maybe why its still getting new seasons even when the DVD/BDs sales are so low.
DVD/BD sales never mattered to begin with. Idk why people still think that. The studios aren't the ones investing money to produce the anime, it's the production committee. And they make profit through other means than DVD/BD sales.
Shueisha for example is usually in every production committee of Jump adaptations since they're the publisher of the manga. They get the money they invested back through boosted manga sales. So as long as the anime is boosting manga sales enough, there will be new seasons.
Music companies in the production company will usually in most cases make enough profit through the OP and ED themes, so that shouldn't really be an issue.
The only ones that actually care about DVD/BD sales are the studios themselves since that's probably their only income. But since they don't need to pay the budget for the anime themselves, it doesn't matter that much.

I’m pretty sure anime producers and distributors like Aniplex and Toho would care about disc sales too. And it all depends on contract terms. A production committee can decide the split the revenue earned however they agree upon. Shueisha makes not just the money from manga sales, but as one of the rights holders, they may earn a slice of the disc sales as royalties. Again, we have no way to know.

Similarly, studios that are not part of the production committees or do not rank high enough on the production committee lists don’t get their revenue from disc sales. They only get whatever their contracts say. Yuri on Ice sold tonnes of disc, but MAPPA, being last on the production committee and invest very little, made very little in return from the disc sales.

Thanks to the international market. China, Korea and Taiwan have been the biggest contributor.

Read the graph.
Crunchyroll, one of the biggest western stream site, contribute 100 million dollars over the past 10 years.
The west isn't even the biggest contributor here. Crunchyroll has 1-1.5 million paid subscribers. The Chinese streaming market is much more bigger than the west and even streaming websites like Hulu Japan is bigger than crunchyroll. Take Boruto as an example.

http://m.iqiyi.com/a_19rrh9f0tx.html

The series has been played 520 million times. It's average viewer per episode is slightly over 10 million people. This is just one of the official websites in China. There are plenty more like Bilibili or Youku where anime is pretty big.
You also know it cost around $100,000 to produce one single episode right?
Yeah like 20 years ago. Times have changed man. An average episode for a late night TV anime costs upto $320,000.

That ends up just being 10mln a year on average, and assuming an average split among say 50 anime a year, that rnds up being just 200,000 dollars per show....though probably way less for some shows since CR gives more money based on the shows that are more heavily viewed and shows of past seasons still continue to generate some views... So if a show is only getting 200,000 that doesnt seem like a significant enough amount to say international streaming is enough to cause more seasons to be made.

If streaming were truly that important, wheres BLeach final season?
