I‘ve been told that several people are planning to host games, so to avoid any problems like people cutting into each other‘s game signups and other things we may need a schedule of games.
For anyone who plans to host a game, you can either write in this thread for what month/day you‘re planning a game or edit it in the schedule yourself if you can.
Note that there‘s no limit to how many games can be had per month, but try not to have 2 games running at the same time.
Sign-ups!
To everyone who usually plays MG or those that don‘t want to miss signups, we‘re testing a new way to alert everyone to a new game instead of mass tags before each game.
All you have to do is go to>>this thread<<and press Watch on the top corner of the thread. I or a host will post there and notify everyone like this whenever a new game starts.
While hosting overall isn't necessarily hard, it's very easy to mess things up as we have seen plenty of times already. This naturally happens more often with newer hosts.
In order to get these new hosts familiar with how the game works behind the scenes and make it a smoother experience for everyone (no one wants a cancelled game!), we are establishing these sets of rules that follow the methods that have been used in the last 50 games:
-If it's your first time hosting, it's MANDATORY to have the help of someone that has hosted before. As long as they aren't banned, it doesn't matter if this person hosted twenty times or just once. This experienced host will be the "Main Host", while the new one assumes the role of "co-host".
-Tasks will be split in a rather equal manner so that the Main Host can keep things in check while the Co-host gets hands-on experience to learn properly.
-The Main Host has the final say when it comes to decisions (ideally, this won't need to be enforced heavily, it's mostly to avoid possible issues).
Once the game is over, the co-host can host on their own and even take the role of "experienced host" for a new host in need!
They do though. Most people end up fatigued from playing or hosting so they need a month rest or more. For players it's different depending on whether you die early or later, but for hosts it's always taxing.

Ah, the Gantz game was fun. But you don't have to reuse the points system. Iirc nobody got close to 100 points anyway so it barely existed.
But these are not always the same players, and hosts. Like, last game there was 15 players or so. Some of them might be willing to play again; if the others don't want, then they just don't play, and instead people who didn't play the last game or last few games, can play. I mean with the number of people on the fun forums i don't get why it would not be possible. I don't know about the hosts though, since i don't know how many there are, or what is required to become a host. If i had a little more time and if i were less willing to play the game, i would propose to host a game myself, just to get one going.

Pretty much all hosts would rather play instead of hosting I'm not sure about the number of hosts, not that many. Basically the ones who hosted the last like 10 games or so?
Its basically like a normal game but it happens through the course of an afternoon instead of several days, Days last less than an hour and nights around 20 minutes or so, then it requires free time for just a day though its quite intense since there's very little time to decide many things
Ugh. I don’t think I can make it if it‘s on 17
Take me as pending for now, if there‘s an 11th person who wants to play he/she can then swap with me tomorrow before the game if 17 really ends up not working.
Is it possible to give a rough European timetable indicating when the day phases start and end? Don't want to occupy a spot when I'm sure I won't be able to post because of work.

True, for a speedgame a host should be able to easily make a timetable for 3-4 dn cycles. Which should also be followed unlike last speedgame‘s very wonky execution.

I was really eager to play but i don't know if i can play such a fast paced game. I'll be with my family this week-end so that's pretty doubtfull. Unfortunate. I think i'll pass this one.

Sure, the idea is to make the tightest schedule possible without making it frustrating.
If it starts at, say, 17:30 CET
Day 1: 17:30 - 18:20 Night 1: 18:30 - 18:55
Day 2: 19:00 - 19:45 Night 2: 19:50 - 20:10
Day 3: 20:15 - 20:55 Night 3: 21:00 - 21:15
Day 4: 21:20 - 22:00 (the game would most surely be finished by here, and thats if it doesn't end on D3)
*The 5 minutes intervals are for me to make the posts. Though I will ask you guys to partially take care of the votecount since there will be a lot of stuff going on
