Let's see, right now it is at 300,000 for 4 volumes. It may not reach 1,000,000 by volume 6 like Bokuben

But something like 500,000 in print by the 5th volumes, and 750,000 by the 6 volumes would be ideal and reachable.

just checked online and you can't buy Yonagi's portfolio :emocat , but i bought the first 4 volumes in digital with 20% off coupon lol~ only 12$.
you can't buy, it, but you can get a digital for free... it's literally 4 pages including front & back cover

KnY got like a 10k boost from the previous volume, nice.

Can someone translate this?

I posted it earlier, itts an interview with the voice actors. Ufotable has the first 3 episodes finished. Anything else?

Act-Age should chase after the Kimetsu growth curve rather than after the Bokuben growth curve. I think Bokuben, just like Yuuna before, has a lower ceiling that a different type of series.

Anyway, Neverland is too big to be an Amazon exclusive. I'm wondering about what will happen if Funi picks it up, tho.

What happend between v4 and v5 of Kimetsu Yaiba, or is that missingness?

Ratio wise both Kimetsu and ActAge increase in a 3:1 ratio, but magnitude wise, seems KimetsuYaiba is far more impressive. If the KimetsuYaiba trajectory is really waht people want, then the series may cap at the 85K - 125K mark, which is exceptionally disappointing for the magazine representing the worlds most popular manga.

so... I kinda made an overview of the sales for the October Jump volumes, it is pretty bare bones since I have no experience in writing this, so feedbacks are appreciated on what would you like added (within my capabilities of course) and/or expanded.explain more.

some say because of Togashi reccomendation, while others say because of the spider-are, add natural growth and word of mouth and it could be any one or a mixture of those,

in a perfect world all we have data for all weeks for all volumes at all time, In a ideal world we get at least the first 4 weeks of all volumes, but as most media, most of the sales are made early on and then the small sales that never charted until... well until stocks last or they stop reprinting .

you can approach them from just the first week, but that would make anomalies even more of an issue which usually are leveled out in a few weeks, but like I said before not all volumes from all will rank even at least the first 4 weeks, heck those are just the tiny, tiny percentages
--- Double Post Merged, ---
even the times between the volume are a factor, backlogs may sold decently but they never charted, and reprints are issued, and shuiesha will have an estimation on how much the initial print for the next volume should be,

if backlogs are growing> fanbase is growing > more people would buy the volume at release> sales boost for the next volumes.

Stacked bar graphs, though a nice feature in packages, is distracting and not meaningful, combined with the sales displaying all numbers you get very difficult to read graphs (see your haikyuu!! graph as an example, 34 tiny bars, numbers on every bar, multiple stacked bars, numbers on the axis, etc, Gintama is another). Week to week differences is better shown on line graphs, so it would be much better than doing everything as much as possible in a stacked bar.

Though I dont what the point of showing week to week data is because its so variable that you cant get meaning, in some case week two is large, some its small, its really not telling us anything about the sales trends of the manga. Example, the clearest one is Boruto, v1 and v2 had what seems to be large week twos, but then its smaller in the v3. Since we know its because of the number of days it was on sale, it seems there is no meaning youre getting from showing us it separated in weeks since the variable is the number of days it went on sale, not that more people rushed to buy it faster than usual. Further complicating things is, the individual stacks have no numbers, so were really just eyeballing slice size, which is easy when its just one or two colors, but 4+, combined with thin bars, and numbers, and so much other stuff, then yeah, distracting.

I bet that Kimetsu will get the bigger boost but ultimately TPN will sell more. TPN is already selling around 400-500k. We dont know what block Kimetsu airs at and what time so that could play a big factor.

Ufotable is putting a lot of care into it seems with episodes already completed.

I think KnY will do around 300-400k.

I do make them though,

and I agree a line chart is better, this format can even be use to compare between series, but at a certain point it would reach the problems the stacked bar, heck even faster since there will be more colors, limiting it to a few volumes is a fair point and I actually does that in this format, this wont even work with some series that could just be point/ a single line on the chart.

also it is much harder to format, I am almost at the point it can be automated, but I'm still trying to work out some bugs, but once I figure that out, I would do more of these comparison chart since the stacked bar template is pretty much finished.

FW days, will eventually level out especially when we get to LTD (but we do need the numbers), I could make this using single color and it literally wont change anything and is better that when made in line chart format. (I do need to add the number of days had past)

I think the format I use is better for overall trend for a series( I would like to hear more opinions), yeah it have have some weaknesses, but it works and people seems to understand it for now. as for not adding the numbers for the other weeks is as simple as adding the table.

I'll definitely say that Kimetsu will wind up getting the bigger boost in the end but Neverland will wind up selling more.

I think KnY will do around 300-400k.
If "care and heart" were qualities that correlated with how well a series will perform, then multiple manga would be multimillion sellers and runaway successes. Since that is not the case, it is clear that "Presentation Values" and "Amount of Episodes Completed Before Airing" are not indicators of a mangas future chance of success.

I cant even think of a single instance where fluid and expressive bombastic animeshot on sakugabooru would cause someone to rush out and buy volume 2 of a greyscale printed on cheap paper static image manga.

This seems most likely. I personally think KnY will end up being bigger than BC but we will need to see.
It'll be an interesting year for sure though. :D

Kimetsu interview bits
- Gag parts of the manga are kept, and the animation will change (from being serious usually) for those scenes (especially when Inosuke and Zenitsu come in)
- Camera work for the battle scenes are “amazing, as expected from Ufotable” especially with the scene in Episode 1 where Tanjiro’s family is killed - Emphasized blood a lot
- The snowy mountain setting is depicted beautifully
- Great, passionate voice acting
- Urokodaki’s mouth muscles will move properly from the side
- Pillars will appear

Yeah, Neverland already does 500k. The boost will take it to 700k at most. Kimetsu hasn't even reached 200k, it could get to 400k with the boost.

Thanks! Im assuming they want to end at the spider family arc. Urokodaki mouth muscles moving would be a nice touch.

The potato faces are the best part of the comedy, I hope they're done well.

Pillars will appear
So the chapter that the Pillars are formally introduced is 45, so unless they skip some sections or speed through the earlier arcs, this has to be 2 cour right?
