I am not talking about Togashi in my reply.

It aims at people who stubbornly claim HxH to be an ongoing manga. Hiatus is not ongoing, and HxH, just like is Berserk, Vagabond, is definitely not living, but more like a patient on coma.
Nothing stubborn about it. Unlike Inoue, Togashi and Miura have made it clear they're continuing with their respective series.

And the most recent chapters for each:
- Vagabond: May 2015
- HxH: November 2018
- Berserk: April 2019

~One of these things is not like the others~

EVERY series peaks and then drops. Name a series that hasn't dropped from it's peak number (AC and KnB don't count since they ended at their peak). Naruto's 1 million per volume numbers which we saw was not what it sold during it's peak. We know how much One Piece has dropped. HxH has dropped as well. We are aware of the drops experienced by Bleach, Toriko, Reborn, Nura, Bakuman, Beelzebub, Soma, Haikyuu!, Prince of Tennis etc.

Also, BC's sales are in line with Beelzebub if not slightly more. No one called it an "unpopular flop" but a decline in sales can easily mean it'll get cancelled like what happened to Beelzebub or so many other series before it. Especially in a highly competitive era.
That logic makes no sense. You're saying that no series don't drop unless they die at their peak. Which is a tautology. It's like Batman's die a villain

First Jump cover with all characters from current running, with Luffy being the newbie.

Next issue had another cover with all current mcs of that age:

Tbh it surprises me Ryotsu being the main lead, and Kenshin being in second tier. I mean, Kenshin was the dominant title in the age post Dragon Ball and Slam Dunk and pre One Piece and Naruto.

You can also see in these two covers Giorno from JoJo 5, Yugi, Midori, Takeshi, my boy Taikobou (Hoshin Engi), NuBe, Hareluya (BOY), and...some titles that I recognize but ended in Psyren tier (Wild Half or Meiryotei Gotoseijuro for example)
I forgot to notice Iori from I's there, but she's there too.

And this is the most recent pre-One Piece Jump joint cover:

1997 had a joint cover too, but with manga authors, so is pretty difficult to see who is the author of what. 1997 would have been mainly this but without Sakuragi and with Yugi and Taikobou (Rokudenashi Blues just ended in 1997 issue 10).

You can see Ryotsu, Kenshin, Giorno, Sakuragi, Maeda, Tsubasa, Hareluya, Wild Half MC, NuBe, and Sexy Commando MC.

And the joint cover before this one....

It already has Gohan. Is curious how between last joint cover with Dragon Ball and first joint cover with One Piece, there was just one joint cover with the Jump manga characters roster.

this is like freebie in a multiple choice test.

Hinomaru Zumou and Yuragi sou no Yuuna San
Since volume 6, Yuuna gets a stable 250,000 first print every volume (and sell 90k~100k) before dropping off the chart. But the threshold for it must be somewhat close to the 250,000 number, the fact that it goes ~2 years with 250,000 copies/volume is pretty good.
Hinomaru Zumou sells a stable 40,000 copies per volume
One is a 3 years old series and the other is a 5 years old series

oh and To Love Ru/To Love Ru darkness lol.

I should check but I think the 1997 joint cover with the authors instead the manga MCs was the last one.

Yep, there is one author dressed as a cow.
Tsunomaru is and always will be the best weirdo.

In fairness, a lot of the modern Jump mangaka are relatively camera shy, so it wouldn't be feasible sadly.

Who is Tsunomaru and what on Earth did he write the justified him re-enacting the climax of Tromeo and Juliet.

Tsunomaru is the beloved creator of Midori no Makibao (and its sequel Taiyo no Makibao), Monmonmon, Gocchan-desu!!, and Survibee. He’s a bit of an oddball, to put it lightly. Animal costumes have come up a few times with him in photos, even.

This means absolutely nothing
Indeed. Fortunately for literally everything that exists, messageboards aren't an accurate representation of the world.

So, I went and read the latest Samurai 8 chapter early...and I'm honestly even less impressed now than I was a week ago. Now that Volume 1 is complete, I really struggle to see the series being able to get off the ground.

Thinking of how when we usually talk about Jump, we have been talking about 2009 as earliest. Then recalling the talk in Discord yesterday about 2008 40th anniversary cover (thanks to Arariel).

These are the 4 special covers for Jump 40th anniversary in 2008. Each one represents one decade (the 4 of them have the Ryotsu of that age, interesting to see the evolution of his art):

70s

80s

90s

00s

My comments:

-70s: My boy Mankichi showing again that Otoko Ippiki was the big hit in 70s (btw first 6 episodes are already subbed by Hokuto no Gun, check them for getting the experience of watching first Jump anime ever). You can also see in second plane rest of important titles of that age (Harenchi Gakuen, Dokonjo Gaeru, Play Ball, Astro Kyudan, Circuit no Okami, Doberman Deka, Susume Pirates). Poor Isamu was already forgotten in 2008 ;_;
-80s: Interesting how the central figure is Suguru (Kinnikuman). Kenshiro (Hokuto no Ken) is also pretty important. You can also see Saint Seiya, City Hunter, Captain Tsubasa, Dr.Slump, Sakigake Otokojuku and Kimengumi. Surprise number 1: Dragon Ball isn't there. Surprise number 2: Ring ni Kakero is there (I would have put Ryuuji in 70s cover). I'm missing Cobra there (would put him in 70s but since Ryuuji is there...), and maybe Ginga Nagareboshi Gin.
-90s: And Goku is the main figure. The big surprise is that is kid Goku, which wasn't in 90s, but 80s (50th anniversary separates both Gokus anyways). Besides him you can see Slam Dunk, Yu Yu Hakusho, Kenshin, Rokudenashi Blues, Video Girl Ai, Sexy Commando, Dragon Quest no Daiboken and JoJo. And Hareluya. I miss here Hoshin Engi, NuBe, Tottemo Luckyman, and Midori no Makibao tbh.
-00s: The age of Luffy. The main surprise to me is how in second level, the one relevant figure together with Naruto isn't Ichigo, but Yugi (totally deserved, btw. Yu-Gi-Oh in early 00s was HUGE). You can also see in the cover Death Note, Prince of Tennis, Hikaru no Go, Takeshi, BoBoBo, and Shaman King (when it wasn't Shueisha banned). Surprisingly no HxH, Eyeshield21, D.Gray-man, Gintama, or Hitman Reborn there.
