Being just the artist doesn't mean he won't fall under the rule. Artists can always be found. Amano Yoichi is also a great artist, but it seems he won't return to Jump anymore (because of the rule). It may actually have to do, that some of his series weren't considered cancelled/failures. As for example Ayatsuri Sakon received anime adaptation. Considering how many reprints Cyborg Jiichan G had, it may also not be considered a failure. And I'm really unfamiliar with Rikijin Densetsu if it was cancelled or meant to be short.

Too lazy to write, if I'm not the one posting it , I don't actually have to give an analysis. :3c

also posting images here is a bit of a bother for me at the moment...

still lurk around here though...

by all measurements, even with the most generous estimates for MHA,

KNY is now ahead of MHA in the series oricon for 2019, and since KNY boost is still going fine + vol. 17 in October and the fact that no more MHA volume until the end of counting range.

disregarding any sudden influx in sales for MHA
KNY will end up ahead of MHA in the series oricon for 2019
I mean, it's possible the anime could boost sales a bit, but after 3 seasons and some already impressive sales, I don't think the anime can do much more for a boost or backlog sales.

And Gakkyuu Houtei came long after Death Note and Bakuman. It was even licensed and published in English (despite being cancelled after 3 volumes), probably because they could put "From the maker of Death Note" on it.

Are there any 2010s creators who have hit three strikes already? Ikezawa I know for sure but I'm not sure about the others.

Let's not forget the dominent theory regarding Ohba is that he's Luckyman creator Hiroshi Gamou, who draws like this.

Tsuneo Takano (Blue Dragon: RalΩGrado) being Ohba is also a dominent theory

we know, there's only one user in this thread that can't see this coming, they have been spamming "yeah right" and other non-arguments for months now

they have a long history with Black Clover "digital sales" so we don't take them seriously

there's also the second movie, but i think that hits on December so after the Oricon cutoff

according to the GIGA extra this was approved immediately in the serialization round
so the comedy better be top notch because the art doesn't exactly scream "please join our magazine!"

from a sleep-deprived glance the cover seems to say

"shoot through 'em! a bullet of laughter"

If that's literal I'm stoked, what an interesting concept. if not it still makes me excited for it.

also

"love and laughs"

I'm curious how Shibashi Hiroshi would be considered in this situation.

If I'm not mistaken, although Nurarihyon no Mago was successful, its popularity fell and was cancelled at the end.

Ilegal Rare was cancelled, while Yui Kamio just survive due to the cushion.
Mago is not a failure so it won't be considered as such. It got really popular at one point, had its anime and a whole franchise around it. Its definitely a hit.

I'm not sure if the rule still applies to mangaka with a decent successful series under their belt. WSJ might make exceptions for them or give them more chances

now that Soma is done, next time GIGA return it will need another WSJ title to carry its sales

which will it be? Yuuna seems like the obvious choice, but you never know what the magazine will look like then

Yuuna's in a weird place right now where it's fully primed to end, with all the major alternate plotlines resolved and the main narrative line looking to reach a climax, but it's impossible to tell when that'll be because the author is clearly most invested in comedic filler chapters.

I wonder if this new series will be any good. It's hard to tell from just the picture and the description (though the MC looks... hard to take seriously).

Yozakura Family wasn't really my thing, as far as the first chapter goes. On the one hand, I'm glad they didn't straight-up blackmail him into the marriage because that would've been an instant drop. On the other hand, the set-up feels pretty forced, and the brother is just.. ugh. I'll give it a few more chapters, but if this is gonna be another series about a kid getting threatened every day and we're supposed to laugh at it, it's not gonna last long (for me. Apparently there are people who like this kind of thing, so).

Getting some Noah Notes vibes from Mitama, but it seems he's her bodyguard?

Oh no, another shonen manga with a useless/damsel in distress female lead. What a surprise.
MC himself looks OK art wise. Maybe it will be one of those that looks better black-white instead of colored.

Has Kano Yasuhiro ever actually been cancelled?

if Mx0 was extended
I think I remember him talking about ending Pretty Face early by his own choice since he ran out of ideas
and I had thought Harisugawa was like that too, didn't it mostly rank mid-low and ended early due to the premise being too trapped?

The guy's series tend to do passably, they just have very limited premised. And of course now he's had a series with a good full run in Jump+ so he'd maybe be free to come back. Though who knows if he'd want to return to the main magazine still.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Also with this 3 strikes rule, who's on their last chance?

I know Iron Knight/Red Sprite guy, Mutou Black/Last Saiyuuki guy, Mitsukubi Condor/Amalgam guy each could have one more try.
