I thought of that as well, in a phase or two they'll PM us our actual colour. In the end, I guess this mechanic is a shield for everyone? I think they meant that in those cases you'll die as ??? painted with a color. If it's in a lynch, it will be that + your allegiance?

I'd think that if this was an Evil game '-' But that could also hint at what the role is, and I believe the goal is to rly leave it hidden. Point number 5 ("the roles and/or alliance will remain concealed, unless usage of certain roles, until the end of the game") was what led me to the answer to the previous question.

The twist I'm anticipating is that town gets red while mafia gets green or so. If the mafia has a janitor and select their targets intelligently, they'll be able to hide this fact for at least half a game.

Mafia Mason is a mafia and will die if you recruit, so you could totally pick me up since I‘m normal. But then again we lose a Recruiter with James and your first action is used on turning a Mason into a Mason(if they don‘t just kill you and lynch me next day).

Day 1 hints are subtle usually while still making some roles impossible due to the hint. Mine crossed out BP, why you poking deeper? :arf

While the character hints could be made to fit any role. He drinks -> Barkeeper, he protects -> any protecting role, he fights -> any killing role...

Gry, why would it ever be a bad plan to confirm you as townie? And why would it be a problem on N1 to survive since a lot of games I have been in mason recruiters have died on N1. Think Farfalla did that, trying to recruit Bel or Erin. And as far as am concerned, targeting townies with bad roles is where I should target. Hence why was so interested in Daws and his claim of Garbo Town role.

I‘m saying this is not the ideal scenario, but James just had to mess it all up getting us all revealed in the open, on Day 1. So at this point we can just salvage what we can.

The implication is he didn't do that, but made a mistake by taking it from a shared PM. With the probable presence of a superb mason in the game, I thought it possible you were recruiter + starting mason. The hosts even put your avi's together.

What's odd is the fact that instead of playing this up, you're leaving open the possibility that you're a mafia. In the recent games you've played as green, I don't think you've been this willing to die. Even when you're salty, you're actively hunting or dismissing targets.

Now that you remind me of Daws, is it possible most have not very good roles(like Daws garbo role), and we were meant to mass-recruit this game, also making the color system easier to figure out?

Inb4 this game has 2+ M Recruiters and the mechanic was to have a good bunch of super mason around the town so townies could form their own small parties to collect info.

Doctors might confirm sanities on us. So that should keep any mentors in the game away from targeting us. But also helps the sub Teacher to narrow down the list of who to guess. Since am leaning toward mentor + mentee + sub Teacher being a direct counter to masons + super masons

Ohh, I get it, it doesn't matter who or what we kill, the hosts didn't assign the traditional colours to the factions, and we never find out the role to begin with, even if we lynch them.

So no matter what colour James/Gry flips as, we'd have to know the others colour for their claim to be any good.
