the zebusa arc was planned by Kishi to showcase Kakashi strength, not the editor. the editor wanted to change the initial name of villian which was Momotaro and Kishi changed it to zabusa. so now you guys even taking naruto success from kishi now.
From what I read from this article, making Zabuza arc was the editor idea, as well as making Haru a human instead a bear companion. Granted, I can't verify its veracity. That's why I included "if this is correct" in my post.

s8 never really has exposition more than 2 to 3 pages.
The first chapter I checked (ch 15) starts with 7 straight pages of exposition.

Thats strange.

Kimetsu print numbers should be much bigger than Samurai 8
It might be a delivery mistake.

But the most remarkable thing about that message (to me) is that they say they aren't expecting anything from S8. Why would a bookstore not expect Kishimoto's first new manga volume to sell?

I don't know how it works exactly but bookstores (usually company-wide level) do market research to determine what to order and how much of it. My friend does that for a Canadian bookstore chain. I think it's based on general buzz (not just random internet posts) so maybe they determined there's not very much buzz surrounding it? Could also be based on pre-orders, if Samurai 8's pre-order pale to what volume 1 of successful series do (at that store so they have exact data) they wouldn't want to get as much as they might for Spy and Demon Slayer.

Looking at that 5ch anecdote about Jump Comics stock and I wonder...

A good western analogue for what might be being done with Samurai 8 here is Marvel comics and overshipping. If they want a series to launch well they sometimes double the shipment going out to places, both to keep it from selling out and to make it seem like a big deal to retailer and consumer alike. It wouldn’t be surprising if Shueisha are doing a similar tactic.

The KnY understock is probably an unrelated cockup, if they apparently ordered more.

it was like 5 pages with half of it having the info we already know. so having exposition after major event to know what happening is bad but it informed at the correct moment and it was a chapter that ended the prolog of the series.

from the interview kishi saying about zabusa arc and the link you provided clearly stated he just wanted to the name changed. so where did u read that arc idead was from editor show me in ur own link u posted.
Q4: “Why did you decide to introduce a strong enemy like Zabuza right at the beginning of the series?”
A: Kishimoto says that he wanted to do this right off the bat to show off Kakashi’s strength as an example of what an experienced ninja can do in the Narutoverse. This would set some cornerstones down in the manga straight away and make it easier for the audience to put things into perspective. Kobayashi points out that there were many things introduced in this arc that played huge roles right until the end of the series (kekkei genkai, sharingan etc), but Kishimoto just said he was ‘bluffing’ with these things in the beginning [nb: in other words he just made them up without any thought on how to use them in the future]. At the time he was just making these things up for the excitement and suspense, but didn’t pick up on what to do with some of these threads long-term until later. Basically he was making it up as he went. Even with Sasuke’s backstory, at the time of the Wave Arc, all that had been thought out was that Sasuke had an elder brother who had done something bad, and that was it. Kishimoto admits the planning was very hazy at this point. However, at the point where Itachi is actually introduced, Kishimoto had decided to secretly make him a good guy, but the reason he did something bad was because of circumstances. Kishimoto also says that although he introduced the Sharingan as being able to copy moves, the premise on what the Sharingan could do changed drastically over the course of the storyline.

Just scroll down. It's at the end of the article, in the list of changes suggested by the editor. Do I need to take a screenshot and highlight it for you as well?

That's the point though. The bookstore company decides the numbers, not the publisher. So the higher-ups apparently decided to order a lot, but the people on the ground (well, this person) don't believe in it.

I'm curious.

How do we know that person is actually a bookstore employee in Japan and not just someone lying?

Is there an authentification process?
Does it really matter? It's not like a random bookstore employee knows more than anyone who follows the market a little.

On 5ch? Not as far as I’ve ever known. You get a lot of people making crap up on there too so like regard everything on there with some skepticism

Yes, as posting false information is actionable. That's why I'm trying to ascertain if there's any legitimacy to the claim.
Its 5ch so it might be bullshit probably just trying to stir up propaganda about Sam8 being hated though I don't really see the point in making false claims when its not really beneficial.

That colour-changing page in Dricam is beautiful.

Gonna be a bitch to publish in book format though.

Didn't the author say Dricam wasn't going to get any release off Jump+?
