Heh, this is the first time in days where I wake up and the thread isn't being consumed by several pages of S8 debates.

Anyway, since things have quieted down for now, here's a question; What mangaka do you think has had the best/most impressive evolution in their art over time?
Does it have to be Jump, specifically?
'cause my default answer is typically to have someone look at the first couple chapters in Flame of Recca, and then the last couple chapters in Flame of Recca.

Looking more at Jump series, the first to come to mind is probably Takeshi Obata, who was never a bad artist in the first place or anything, IMO, but his art changed drastically over time, but at such a subtle pace, I never even noticed until I went back and re-started Hikaru no Go after Death Note ended.

To be fair, the discussion that can be made on 2020 is barely linked to the one we are currently having on 2019. Some interesting points would be:
-If OP 95 releases on february (afaik it's not stated for Nov/Dec/Jan), does that mean there is a chance only 3 OP volumes get released for the 2020 Oricon year? (4 volumes if they all come out 3 months of each others, but only 3 if there happens to be 4 months between two of them as sometimes is the case) If there are no movie on top of that, could it actually get overtaken in 2020? (if it hasn't been in 2019 obviously)
-Will the HQ and MHA anime help their respective sales climb up again ?
-What about TPN, when will its season 2 air ? Will it have an effect on the manga's sales ? What about the Live-action movie ?
-Will the Kimetsu movie help its sales ? Was it a wise decision? (faster to make than a 26 episodes season, meaning it may come out while the Kimetsu hype is still going on)
-If Kimetsu and TPN ends before the end of 2020, will they still be able to enter the top 10 ? (Not Jump related, but the same question can be asked for GoToubun and Attack on Titan)
-The WSJ adaptations confirmed for 2020 are: MHA, TPN (anime+Live action), Kimetsu (movie), Black Clover, One Piece and We Never learn (well, late 2019, but still partly after the end of the oricon year) (and Boruto). At this point last year, we had one more (Dr Stone) and a One Piece movie, but Kimetsu had a full season, not just a movie, WNL and MHA count for both 2019 and 2020. So, when will the eventual Act-Age/Jujutsu anime be announced ? Scheduled for which season/year? What about the One Piece live action wildcard?
-Oda keeps taking breaks so yeah it could mean less volumes might be released net year like. As for sales, it might be easier to sell more than OP, doesn't mean a series will make it.
-For HQ, I think it's hard for it to get a boost, it's more possible that its sales will remain stable. As for MHA, it got boosts for all previous 3 seasons. Sounds unreal it would get another one, but it could happen again.
-TPN season 2 most probably will air in Spring 2020 and the manga will probably end around that time, or it will be already over.
-Adapting the Demon Train Arc as a movie was a good idea in my opinion. That arc has only 14 chapters and the next two arcs after have 33 and 28 chapters, respectively, which means that if they were to make another 26 episode season, they would have to adapt only a part of the 28 chapter long arc. With a movie, they can proceed to adapt those other two arcs completely in a single season. Also, a movie is faster to make, but if they want to keep the quality, they can't rush it and Ufotable has other projects in which they are working right now. As for a boost, the backlog will most definitely feel it, for new volumes, I don't know cause there is a chance the series will be over by the movie's release.
-Unless those two series' sales take a nosedive next year, yes they can make it to the top 10. They are really big series.
-KNY's movie still doesn't have a confirmed released date, it might be released late 2020 or early 2021. As for AA and JJK, I expect to hear something about their respective anime adaptations in Jump Festa in December. I think one of them might start airing in Summer 2020 and the other in Autumn.

Assuming S8 is facing a danger of being axed once future volumes don’t grow very much, and assuming Kishimoto has a longer run in mind, admin REALLY wants it to keep running, do you guys think it’s possible that it would just get moved to Jump+ rather than being axed all together?

Artwise (some of the faces), Beast Children reminds me of early Kuroko's. Which makes sense when Terasaka was an assistant for Fujimaki.

How would Jump+ be more beneficial?

Huh? Obviously it wouldn’t sell more from being on Jump +.
But if it’s clear that the series won’t grow in sales by the time we hit say, volume 6(assuming it lasts that long), and Jump wants to cancel it against Kishimoto’s wishes to continue the story, why not?
If it consistently pulls like 20K-30K per volume it would already sell more than the vast majority of Jump+ series, and assuming Kishimoto only wanted it to run say, 15ish volumes, it’s not like he’d be tied down for a super long time.

Which former Shōnen Jump series (not currently in the magazine) do you guys think is the most likely to get an anime adaptation? Side Question: Which series do you want the most to get an anime?

Not exactly WSJ but I think Fire Punch may have a good chance at an anime adaption

I wanna say the most likely is like.... Enigma, as darker Jump properties (tonally at least) might seem like a good sell, and Enigma’s initial story is still pretty revered.

As for the series I want most? Mr. Fullswing. I love baseball anime, and there is no other series quite like Mr. Fullswing. It’s unique as heck.

I can't stretch my mind enough to understand the ins and outs of the industry, and thus couldn't even begin to predict what's "likely"...but I'd certainly be pretty happy if Neuro got a remade/proper adaptation.

Regarding the current poll, I think we will have only one more serialization round with three series. Looking at last year, we had a serialization round in October 1st and 8th, we already surpassed this point, so you will hear about the new series in the next issue preview, which we will have the TOC tomorrow I believe, or only in November. I think it is going to be in November. Then 3 series will be cancelled: Beast Children, TSS and Double Taisei. I think it is very obvious, there is no reason to keep any of those until 2020.
After that there will be no time to another serialization round, last year we had one in October and the next only on January 1st, so since we will had new series later this year there is no reason to believe that we will have another serialization round any earlier than that with Jump end of the year break, etc. Therefore, three new seires until the end of the year.

I’m planning to read Mr. Fullswing, so it’s good to know that is a unique read. Kinda sad there haven’t been that many baseball series since it, but at least Rookies was a great series to go back and read.

Kubo didn't improve his art tho. He just changed his style. A lot would argue that his initial style was better. The urban style art he had for the first arc especially was very apt for the feel of the series during that arc. But as it got more serious, the change it art was definitely more suited.

Real talk, should Jump be alarmed that none of their 2019 series is particularly successful so far? None of the newbie impresses, and readers are lukewarm to the anticipated Kishimoto's comeback manga. Meanwhile, two of their most current best sellers are ending soon.
