I'm also late but here are my top picks.

World Trigger, My Hero Academia, Ansatsu Kyoshitsu, Haikyu, Kimetsu no Yaiba.

About isekai, I do want a well-done. The overpowered MC trend need to stop, also enough with RPG Game-like world settings.

She's certainly allowed to have her own opinion, but. Yuuna isn't the first ecchi series in the magazine by a long shot, and the average reader of the magazine is now over the age of 18, sooo? I don't really understand the point. Not like trying to make an outcry for attention will change anything. Hasn't for years.

Also, wow. She flat out said "I'm kinda glad the population is declining". I genuinely feel sorry for people whose minds work the way hers does.

Kimetsu will not let up.

Dr. Stone is doing alright.

HeroAca still doesn’t have all of its volumes in the Top 500. It’s slowly creeping it’s way up, though.

I side with Sachiko. But given the demographics of this forum (and of the community in general), I imagine I’ll be in the (“SJW”) vast minority.
Honestly these words are much more disgusting than the whole deal with nipples. But overall its hilarious when people make such statements and think anyone cares
Given the likes and retweets, it looks like some people do care.

You know, Samurai 8 is having a pretty solid consistency all things considered.

Also is that person someone I should know about or are we back to commenting random Twitter posts?

She can condemn all that she wants. Nothing will change about this, and this discussion is irrelevant as well since it's not the first time that a series on WSJ has such things. lol This time not even from JP, so this is even more irrelevant.

Yeah, idk why we should care about a random person posting something on twitter.

Regardless of whether or not the Yuuna nipple easter egg should be considered an outrage, the fact that it's in a magazine that 10 year olds can grab off the shelf without adult supervision feels... irresponsible of WSJ, at the very least. Even if you think it's a funny gimmick in a vacuum, Yuuna is sharing pages with series that are straight up marketed to kids, like One Piece and MHA. That's the main thing that weirds me out about it.

That's the whole point, though. Women have been seen only as sexual objects for years and had to cope with the matter silently, especially in a very misogynous society like Japan, but recently they have found their voice. Times are changing, you'll see this more and more often. WSJ's and manga/anime in general have seen an increase in their female audience and of course they will get angry at stuff like this. The lack of a woman in their editorial department to deal with this kind of stuff is showing here. The way WSJ tried to make this pass and expect everyone to turn a blind eye to it is completely irresponsible. Also, how many many stuff were just slapped with "it has been like this for years" but desperately needed a change? If anything, that kind of statement is just an excuse for someone that condones it or is trying get away with enjoying this kind of material and fearing it won't stay around.

I'm not trying to "get away" with enjoying this kind of material like it's some sort of cardinal sin. I also have no fear whatsoever that it won't stay around. It may appear in a different format, but it will still be there. The original person who was comparing it to men's supposed fantasy of "murder and rape" and her several xenophobic comments against the Japanese is kind of where I draw the line.

I understand the entire point of the argument, I'm no child, but this is certainly not the place to start fires. Targeting actual abuse of minors and women would be a far more effective and feasible method, and smaller scale things like this can be moved to a more reasonable format once the actual problem is solved.

That's my entire thought on the subject and I won't comment on it any further, though. This is a thread for manga discussion, but it's devolving into arguing moral depravity, and that isn't why any of us are here.

Meh... The way mags are sold in Japan kids can grab adult mags off the shelves as well, they're literally next to each other.

Since you don't really make the age of WSJ readers an issue, I'll ignore that for now and ask you, how is sexualizing and objectifying men in particularly romantically charged shoujo/josei any different or more permissible?

Showing boobs is hardly worse than the sexualization of men outside of WSJ. Plus men are objectified in different ways then just "oh the chest is showing", since women find literary stuff more sexy than visual stuff. So why aren't these people complaining about that as well?

Edit: Plus MAR literally showed nipples in the main magazine before. And SQ continues to show them even though it's also marketed to a relatively similar demographic. The outrage is ... Well, potentially misdirected.

I will say this, I do appreciate the sheer cleverness of the Yuuna censor bypass thing.

Now, whether or not it's actually moral or whatever, I'll avoid commenting on. I will ask that we don't just post random Twitter opinions in here, though.

If it's from someone in the industry, that's a different issue. But just some no name random person? No. Let's refrain from that.

Is further discussion on it prohibited?

Also, anyone have theories on what is actually going to happen in Haikyuu? Or is that kind of specific talk not really good for this thread?

On the Yuuna thing? No. I'm just saying, for future reference, don't link rando's Twitter's in here. Linking Twitter in here should be informative to the magazine itself. Not just people complaining about so and so from X series, like in this case.

Also, anyone have theories on what is actually going to happen in Haikyuu? Or is that kind of specific talk not really good for this thread?
That is more suited for the specific thread/section of the series.

I don't really care to continue this topic at all but.... I find it funny how 99% of the people who are complaining think that Yuuna being extremely ecchi is anything new for WSJ when nipples have been shown in Jump series for decades now lol
