"Maybe Weekly Jump doesn't really allow veteran authors that previously published in other magazines. But they allow popular authors that have been published in WSJ before, but not popular "outsiders"."

Basically Jump mostly publishes rookie authors, and or authors that had had a hit in Jump previously, in contrast to the example I gave of Sunday having pretty successful authors like Minoru Arakawa post-FMA, or the Claymore mangaka... or now that I think of it Magazine also having the mangaka that made Soul Eater or for example Magazine also publishing Oh Great's Air Gear. Also, Masami Kurumada being published in Champion's main magazine (I think Saint Seiya Next Dimension runs in Weekly Shonen Champion, right?)

So basically ALL the other main weekly shonen magazines have published authors that have been popular before, but I couldn't find a single author that was published (debuted) in Weekly Shonen Jump that had had already been successful or known.

Like, don't you think it's a bit strange that Oh Great which was already published in a Jump magazine made a weekly serialization with another publisher? It's almost as if there's a policy of Weekly Shonen Jump not allowing authors that have already published seinen or are already recognized...
The one exception I can think of are "artists" (As in artists that get paired with an author that creates the story), for example, the artist for Dr.Stone, but other than that, do you remember ..

After finishing this post another author came to mind, Mizuki Kawashita mangaka of Ichigo 100%, she started as a Shojo artist but was told by Shueisha her art would appeal more to boys so she did Ichigo 100% in WSJ.

Yeah. It seems WSJ prefers to focus on novice author or their own veterans. They do not seem to try to attract veterans from other magazines.

The exception of Mizuki Kawashita is because her first works were Josei (and BL) and Shoujo. Also, these manga were still for Shueisha.

I see the shoujo of Mizuki Kawashita (Kaede Taifuu), her art really fits the shonen better.

I'm curious if it's really that they're not especially interested in veterans from other magazines, or more that veterans elsewhere don't want to go to WSJ. I could imagine some might've tried to get into WSJ already and failed. And now that they're successful elsewhere, they probably don't want to do a soft-reset of their fanbase to try a magazine where they might get cancelled in 4 months.

Meanwhile, rookies are really excited and hopeful to get a manga in the #1 magazine so they probably get tons and tons of submissions from new creators.

That makes me curious actually, I wonder just how many newbies submissions they get and how many of those they see potential in and actively cultivate. I mean serious ones, no doubt they get lots of quick stuff made in manga-creation software (they always do in those contest that are free to read).

I think you mean Hiromu arakawa, Minoru Arakawa was someone who worked in Nintendo if I'm not mistaken

Wow, this is surreal.

It helps that Horikoshi is quite active there too. Though he's nowhere near as active as Mashima who was the first one to reach 1M followers. At this pace, he should reach 1M by middle of this year, if not the end.

Well aren't you a nice person? Seriously though there is a BC hate movement from the people who vote on this thing. No one can convince me that any of the recent black clover chapters deserve to be this low.

But being a BC fan isn't easy. You say ome positive thing about it anywhere and you're getting flamed. Doesn't happen with anything else. Not even fairy tail. Only happens when you talk about Black Clover. The only place I haven't see that happen really is here. Sometimes...... It's clear some people here don't like bc either but you have to keep it civil

There is no option to "unvote" or reduce a manga's amount of vote. So there is one simple explanation: the voters of that poll just vote for other manga they care about more than BC .
Surprise right, that there ain't no grand conspiracy or smearing campaign, just the taste of small group of people from the internet .
I don't even hate BC. I care enough to still following and somewhat enjoying it, and not in the masochist way I follow S8. I just amused myself recalling your reactions every time Jovan shares this poll.

I think you are looking way too deep into my comments I'm not entirely serious, and like no shit that it's because the people voting don't care about BC. It's just a little saddening as a fan. Relax fam.
