I dunno.
Maybe a lot of people who read it find it funny, though it may not suit your type of comedy.
Maybe this is just your usual editorial push - we'll have to see it's first ranking next week.
Maybe the fan letter censorship from a couple weeks ago actually worked.

Either way, I'd laugh if both this and Mitama Security end up surviving this gauntlet of 7 (or 8, including the samurai?) new manga.

It's the magazine's empty hype as usual. Don't take it too seriously. I'll say this as much: Yoshioka (GB's artist) new series clearly has heavy influences from his time with Inoue. It's nowhere near GB's level, but I find myself respecting his effort more, if only because it's clear he's just trying to apply what he's learned from his experience. But I'll stop now and leave it at that.

I've always found it really weird that people can't stand for something they don't personally like to be popular. I think Attack on Titan was an average-ish manga that became progressively worse after the halfway point, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go around shouting "how the hell is this crap popular?", because it obviously is.

What I'm trying to say is it's okay for things you think are bad to be popular. Let people enjoy things.

Psyren definetly got robbed of its anime, other titles like Neuro, Medaka Box, Muhyo, Beelzebub, Nurarihyon, Hinomaru Zumo all got animes while not selling super hot (and all ending relatively "soon").

Sure, all the titles I mentioned were in WSJ for 4 years (Psyren was for 3)... So maybe that's why it never got an anime Idk, I don't really know all the sale figures for the manga I mentioned, but they are also mangas which wouldn't be exactly considered great successes.

Nah I think Nura is quite very successful actually...

A MANGA Plus schedule? Yeah, there's one but not updated for months. Also, the ID thing is getting even more unuseful given that they're uploading chapters as they feel like, sometimes with 1 ID, sometimes with 3. Haven't also checked it that much lately because I'm busy IRL, but I don't think there's anything worth mentioning on it. The only weekly updated thing that I'm trying to manage completely is views track.

Not gonna lie, for HxH going weekly, Bleach'a final arc being animated and Psyren getting an anime it all equal levels of excitement for me. Hard choice but I picked HxH in the end. If it didn't have the haitus issues I think it would be better than One Piece tbh
