Also, just to remind that the first real battle on Samurai 8 had Ata basically destroying a moon just to show off, it's a galactic sci-fi series, Kishi is aiming for over the top battles from the start.

Btw, so according to the ID stuff, S8 will either end on #17 or be in a break on #18?

I feel like if Samurai 8 doesn't end, people will just start assuming the next arc will be the last one lol. It's in a weird situation where it will always seem like it might be on the chopping block. It's kind of like when a doomsday cult passes the date and sets a new one, except in this case there is a lot more basis for any given S8 axing than the end of the world. I don't think arguments about S8 ending will end until the series does, and even then people might be able to keep it up!

I think Agravity's biggest issue is that its setup is so thin that, for an episodic comedy, its left with no option but to constantly make new shit for stories. When your setup involves just four characters (and only four) stuck on a completely isolated alien planet that is also mostly harmless, there's not much in the way of avenues to explore while maintaining a status quo. Like, already four new guys were randomly introduced and had three straight chapters focused on one of them being obsessed with Chris, that's how little there really is to do.

Which is weird, because the series has an unexplored planet, a funny alien race, a near-almighty god and an entire universe at its disposal, and yet we are stuck with romantic misunderstandings and poop jokes.

The problem isn't the setting, it's how the different elements are used (or not used) by the mangaka.

Don't know if anyone's interested but I like watching how this unfolds week after week.

Guess his third try will be a success then. After all failing and then succeeding is more the mangaka norm than succeeding at the first try. Well, it depends on what's your definition of success.

Maybe he'll finally get something to stick on Jump+ or something (if he doesn't leave the industry, some do after multiple failures).

Not in Japan's equivalent of alphabetical order for hiragana/katakana.

Actually I'm curious what would be last by kana order, I can't imagine a series starts with n or wo so you'd need to check the wa series I guess.

I went and checked quick and I think the last (english) alphabetical order series is one called Zuuzuushii Yatsu from 1971.

Last by kana order I think is Watari Kyoushi from 1978.

Actually never mind, last by Kana order I think is actually World Trigger now that I've checked the wo series.

Lol why? Dude created one of the best selling manga of all time which (along with few other series) is one of the main reasons why manga and anime are sorta mainstream worldwide now.

I do feel very bad for Shibata, his second series in 5 years and its bombing very hard. Specially since I really looked forward for him to come back, while I have genuinenly enjoying Zipman, its crystal clear its getting ready to wrap things up. Hope he doesnt get discouraged from trying another shot in the future.

MHA is quite under, but still came out on top with a 20k difference damn. Gotta keep an eye on the following weeks. TPN and HQ are much closer than I expected lol. Really good stuff for JJK and CSM, crossing fingers for CSM to cross 100k next week already, and JJK should cross 200k by week three.
