Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Probably in the minority but the final battle of Kimetsu no Yaiba ruined the arc for me. This finale is overall pretty bad. Not as bad as Promised Neverland though. I do agree though outside of those 2 alot of series are in their potentially best arcs.

If a fight going a bit too long is somehow grounds for arguing an arc is "ruined", I think that says more about you than anything else.

this week is pretty weak for me or underwhelmed after lately..??

UU is so great this chapter.. its hit hard for me.. the bride and the kid are top notch add.. focus on character than fight itself was great choice...also andy always genius in situational battle, props to MC who can talk big also competent from the start.. remind me of josuke, my fav jojo..
Hope its stay man,., i still disappointed about the sales, hope its growth..

Csm is crazy as always.. but i dont care about the character, its wasteful.. narrative over story is no for me//unpopular opinion, please dont kill me
WNL, wasted another chapter too.. i already dislike what if scenario, its cheap narrative, the world on WNL cant provide you that (if its come out from gintama, scifi or fantasy and comedy like community episode, its believeble) and i am not wrong so far..and we may got another CP and top 6 in ToC, life is unfair, truly
its the last time i will comment on WNL, hope not get deleted.. its free spoiler..

I thought this week was a little weaker too, but that's probably because the last few were so good that an average week like this seems bad by comparison.

Also regarding Kimetsu no Yaiba, I figured the final battle was a separate connected arc. Like you have the dimensional fortress arc, and the countdown to sunrise arc. Like how Naruto's war arc is really 4 separate connected arcs (Kage Summit, Zetsu war, Ten Tails battle, Kaguya battle), or DBZ's android saga is really split into 3 separate arcs (Frieza/Trunks saga, android saga, and cell games saga).

When the whole arc is literally composed of endless fights, is a fair argument, even more when the fight was supposed to be the climax of the series.

Moriking was great. I liked it more on the first chapter than any of the other gag manga. And I don't dislike the other ones.

Regarding Chainsawman's latest chapter, sometimes I wonder if people who have no clue what's going on are just skimming the chapters. It's kind of tiring to see people go "wtf is happening" or "I don't understand what's going on" every week when the chapters are pretty straightforward unlike in Fire Punch where Fujimoto was actually trying to mindfuck the readers.

Some really good chapters this week!!

KNY, MHA, Haikyu been consistently strong for me recently.

JJK had some fantastic choreography and nice art (even the little things like the water bottle on the floor) - made me long for anime even more.

Mori King has cool character designs but hasn’t grabbed me yet. I look forward to the next couple of chapters to see how it goes

UU Vol.1 sells around as much as Yozakura Vol.2 so it ain't that disappointing. Plus I read somewhere that UU sells online as much as Yuuna does and Yuuna seems to sell pretty decently online. Ofc there is no way to prove such internet rumors so I don't know if UU really sells online as well as Yuuna but if it does, I certainly won't complain.
Also UU has yet to end up in the very last TOC place like it happened with Zipman, AB or GotW. Sure hope though it gonna rise in ranks when we get to chapter 8 and 9 in the TOC rankings but given the 8 week delay that should take a little more time I assume.

So we've got a trio in Yozakura, Undead, and Agravity, all of which might be selling just enough to survive. it's very likely that the three will rank, but how well will they do in their second week? Can Yozakura show some sales potential? If it can, then Agravity would be on the chopping block. Undead's in a pretty decent position, though.

Side note, how many gag manga do we have running, if we include this new serialization batch? I hear that the magazine has too many gag manga, and I wanted to keep count.

Four currently (I would also count Yozakura as a fifth, but that's up for debate).

1. Mitama
2. Agravity
3. Mashle
4. Moriking

I don't know if you can put Mashle as a gag too.
Unlike Agravity boys and Mitama who have closed chapters.
Mashle has a more continuous story, things are not resolved in the first chapter.
Moriking, we don't know how he will behave, if he will have more closed chapters or if he will have a continuous story.

4 gag manga is a pretty normal number for this magazine, remember for a few years last decade we had Kochikame, Gintama, Saiki, and Isobee all running together. If you go back a little earlier, you had Sket Dance and Inumarudashii alongside KochiKame and Gintama, and before that you had Kochikame, Jaguar, Bobobo, and Mr Fullswing running together. Four gag manga at the same time is normal for WSJ.

Generally at any given time we have 2 pure gag (Kochikame & Jaguar/Inumarudashii/Saiki), one gag-action (Bobobo, Gintama), and one other mixed genre (Mr Fullswing is gag/sports, Sket Dance is gag/drama). Or maybe 3 pure gag and 1 gag-action.

Currently we've got 2 pure gag (Mitama, Moriking), one gag-action (Mashle), and other other mixed genre (Agravity Boys as gag/sc-fi adventure). All 4 sticking around wouldn't be too weird for the magazine. Though maybe Moriking will start fighting, who knows.

It only seems like a lot since the pure gag stuff never got translated much, so people ignored them in the ToC (and of course since we'd had periods of no gag manga recently after all the long running ones ended close together).
