Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

lmao at people already comparing it to Yaiba, i seriously read someone at the WSJ twitter saying it will sell better kkkk.

About the PV, it looks good, at least the first episode, still a bit cautious taking in count the early date but i wish the best.

Doesn't this not mean much yet? It's Netflix JP, not worldwide, nor is it a Netflix exclusive?
If Netflix has the streaming rights there is a high possibility it will be region locked for months, they are disgusting. I hope other companies actually get rights but the idea of Netflix getting already makes me mad.

While not confirmed it seems weird to make a post hyping up a show they have no involvement in. As far as I'm aware Doreiku is the only anime exclusive to Netflix in Japan but not the rest of the world. I supposed we'll find out soon enough.

Wouldn’t go as far as to call them disgusting. While I hate it, the business model works for them, and binge watching us what their entire platform is known for.
I think it sucks that they hold on to anime. But I don’t believe they maliciously do it to purposely ruin the hype of a series. And I’m sure all of their hyped anime that they hold onto still receive huge streaming numbers, or they would have stopped picking up anime years ago.
Hopefully this doesn’t hurt Jujutsu’s hype much in the West though

Netflix I am quite mixed on. They had the entirety of Naruto for years but took very long just to get One Piece.

And yes, I know that Hulu had Shippuden and One Piece for a while.

Going by the estimates we can 'calculate approximately':

New Prince of Tennis 29 - 46070
Haikyu-bu!! 2 - 21218
Haikyu-bu!! 3 - 20432
2.5D Seduction 4 - 18336
Aharen-san 9 - 12834
Samurai 8 5 - 10945
Boukyaku Battery 7 - 8525
Summer Time Rendering 10 - 6820
Funeral Home 1 - 4010
Guardian of the Witch 1 - 3168
Murders at the House of Death 2 - 2928

I only have one comment.
I wanted to see a lot memes like this :teehee

I never said they do it with bad intentions lol. However, it's very frustrating. Their business model works for series, not for anime, but they don't seem to realize how bigger their anime could be if they didn't stick to one model most of the time. The only Netflix animes that were able to breakthrough and have worldwide recognition were Devilman Crybaby and Violet Evergarden, but they were not region locked. Not to mention if you are an anime watcher, Netflix is not one of the primary options. If they region lock it, I would be shocked if it didn't hurt Jujutsu's hype. There's a reason many are annoyed at this possibility.

I missed a lot, huh?

Hopefully Jujutsu’s production doesn’t implode. MAPPA’s got me worried about that. The music is pretty damn good, and the anime looks nice. I’d say slightly below MHA for me. Just slightly.

Unless shoseki is very off this week, that's a lower first week than I expected for Kimetsu.

... And even typing "lower than expected" regarding Kimetsu feels wrong, so maybe Shoseki is indeed way off.

I wonder if they made different status for special edition

The PV for JJK is good, as others have said it's on MHA level of animation
I watch very few animes (I prefer reading) but I think MAPPA is competent enough.
They did Listerners and it's quite good imo

As for the sales, I expected minimum 3 million for Kny
And I'm happy for Act-Age, that cover is gorgeous !

People must be forgetting that Kimetsu’s first week sales are bound to be lower than predicted cause of corona. Even if it doesn’t seem to have any kind of influence on sales, it definitely has on some degrees. Honestly, knowing how many people are going to buy that KNY volume I would wait for a week or two to go and buy it, so that there’s fewer people at the bookstores

Oooooooorrrrrrrrrrrr, perhaps, it's because the volume stock ran out? Like we already know since it had to get a reprint order within a day?

Occam's Razor, people.

I doubt it has anything to do with the coronavirus considering it's backlog never slowed down at all during the pandemic, I'm gonna say it has something to do with both volumes going out of stock during day one

Jujutsu Kaisen TV Anime PV 1
Airing October 2020
(MAPPA)

Okay this has me more optimistic! I’m loving the use of the dynamic camera angles, fits with JJK very well.

Edit - Just looked and yuji gets his trademarked lines under the eyes after chapter 1. Everyone looks great and the music is great. Hopefully the quality last the whole season.

I knew the PV was going to come while I was sleeping.

Just adding there are rumors of Getou being voiced by Sugita.
