For anyone interested, Moriking first ranking in 3rd place is the best first ranking since Hinomaru Zumou in 1st place on 2013, and yeah, i just checked each series since that, i didn't counted Naruto Gaiden in 2015 that got 2nd place because it was a 10 chapters short series.

Iirc, it was mentioned somewhere that there were three manga (there could've been more before that, that I don't know of) in the history of Shounen Jump that got first place in the polls for their first chapter. Those three manga were Seikimatsu Leader den Takashi, One Piece and Hinomaru Zumou. I think Oda told the story in an interview once how Shimabukuro got first place in polls for his first chapter and then he managed to do the same with One Piece just one week later.
