Being a newb and all I started reading all this thread from the beginning, and I arrived to the part where there was a big discussion about the fact that the lead CP for the first chapter of UxU was portraying the main character groping the busty heroine. Many dropped after the first chapter because of the lewd and presumably sexist humour. So i was wondering what do you think about that 25 chapters later, given that the author has proven that the story he wants to tell doesn't stop at that and it also gained a safe spot in the ToC and a good following even on this thread.
Truthfully I never minded the 1st chapter. I thought the actual chapter was really good. The CP that you are talking about made the chapter more interesting because I didn't expect the manga to be like that. I think Undead was my favorite first chapter out of all the newbies, and the manga continues to be more interesting.

If you're asking my personal opinion, it never bothered me at all, the little outrage at that color page in this thread was something very "out of proportion" by some users, and even most who were complaining stopped doing after chapter 1 was released and the majority loved, and who maybe dropped the series with 1 chapter, well, too bad for them because they're missing a very cool manga for something so little as some panel with Andy touching breasts.
If TPN wasn’t rushed and maybe had 50 more chapters to flesh out characters more, have more impact on character deaths, done a better job with queen/ peter ratri fight, and put more detail into the lore of the series it could’ve been shonen jump’s greatest manga this decade
I know that I’m just stating the flaws that I have seen in the manga and how they could have been prevented. However I do agree if it was longer it might make the series even worse. I’d say the exact same thing with demon slayer. It could have used about 10 more chapters to make the series more fleshed our. However if it was longer it could have just slowed down the pacing and make the tanjiro vs muzan fight even worse than it originally was.

Kimetsu no Yaiba has really cemented itself as the fastest selling manga of the Oricon era, those numbers are insane. At this point I don't doubt it'll keep growing until the last volume (especially because the movie comes out in almost 2 months). Spy x Family 1 already crossed 1 million in sales as was reported earlier, still crazy how popular it is. The other volumes should reach 1 million soon. My Hero Academia 27 and The Promised Neverland 19 are doing so well, the former has an advantage of over 42,000 copies compared to the last volume while the latter has an advantage of over 53,000 copies, not to mention both volumes had two days less than the previous ones. Really unusual to see My Hero Academia growing while the anime is not airing.

We Never Learn will keep adding 100,000 in circulation until it adds up to 4 million by the last volume lol. It was just the other day that Jujutsu had a new circulation number and there are still reprints scheduled. Yeah, this one is crossing 10 million soon. It will help that volume 13 and the anime will drop in the same month.
3.8 million in 18 volumes. I mean... it’s nice, but I feel like that’s quite low, especially when you compare all the other big romcoms this was going up against in its generation. (Champion manga are beginning to outpace it at this point.) Maybe WNL’s successor will have better sales luck.

I still think HeroAca and Neverland are simply recovering from the lockdown. I do hope sales increase though. Somehow. Things have gotten more competitive, with Spy x Family going on a complete tear.

I’m surprised that WNL sales are this low. I thought this would have passed 6 million at the very least. Looking at some of the hype, it gave off the impression that it was one of the biggest romcoms out right now.
Just love how Yozakura is able to keep pratically tied with Undead despite the big difference in pushing and advertising between the two by Jump, just shows how much more they could be doing for it.
