Yozakura was finally able to defeat (most of) Yaiba wall and even if you add the rest of Yaiba volumes Yozakura #4 would still be better than #3, really excited to see the grow in the full week

Decent start for both Moriking and TPG, this one was better than i expected, in terms of position number Moriking started few bellow Mitama #1 but we will have to wait for the actual numbers, i think it will do better. Mitama seems like the usual and Mashle will 100% be in the top 50

Bone Collection is indeed a flop, just charting a bit better than Guardian #2 that is cancelled for a good while now, that's bad.

If it manages to mantain itself in the top 50 for a while there's a good possibility since it's a six-day first week, probably would be in the lower end of the ranking. For the past two months, the 50th place in Oricon sold from over 17,000 to a bit under 26,000 so it'll probably have to do around that much. If it takes a nosedive after this, then there's no chance.

Unfortunately i think will not, maybe will be right there between 50 ~ 60 but i think Yaiba will block it in the end =/

Interesting, interesting! Finally, some goddamn Shoseki data!

Course, this is only the first day, so the most interesting thing here by far are the newbie comparisons.

MASHLE at 9 and Yozakura Family at 16 sound really goddamn impressive until you look and realize that Kimetsu backlogs are at a weak point. As soon as those reprints hit, those ranks are gonna drop. But that doesn't mean that the two series havent grown, or haven't grown significantly. I think that MASHLE's becoming a genuine hit now, and Yozakura definitely seems to be stabilizing itself, even if it's increases seem to be on the smaller side of things. I honestly think that MASHLE can make Oricon this volume, actually.

Newbie rankings...aren't great, IMO. It's the first day of their first volume, so we have ye tto see what they can really do, but I was expecting Moriking to be a little higher. Time Paradox Ghostwriter feels to me like a series that will be popular at first but then gradually decline in sales due to relatively poor word-of-mouth. And Bone Collection... yikes. Closer to Guardian's second volume than Miitama's fourth - caught in the middle of what will very likely be two axed series, it can only observe it's eventual fate. And by eventual, I mean 3 weeks.

I feel like a downer here, and I apologize for that, but now that we finally have rankings, I'd like to see how these rankings hold over the week, and over the month. Then we'll have some more information in order to really predict where our newbies and established series may be heading.

• Whoa, massive improvement for Yozakura. This is genuinely unexpected growth.
• Moriking did worse than I expected. Not that I thought much, but this is Mitama-level from the looks of it.

Yozakura isn't going to chart above the kimetsu wall on weekly so that's irrelevant (it probably wouldn't hold above it regardless, but KnY will get restocked in the coming days). Realistically speaking probably not going to chart, and the jump in daily rankings looks better because the wall itself is weaker (and comparing daily ranks makes no sense, I've already said this a lot of times but it really is true). Not impossibile since it's a 6 days week but not likely either.

Mashle though, almost certainly will chart. Also, the bone/mori/TPGW batch is a total failure, damn.

3 flops out of 3 (with one of them being a big one as well) is a failure of a batch no matter how you look at it, as much as it pains me to say it. They aren't going to bomb like demon's plan obviously but they aren't a success either unless they miracolously hold their rank which is unlikely.

Moriking ranked a little bit below of what Mitama did in its first volume. Of course, it's not an one-to-one comparison, and Moriking can have a better hold, but it is disappointing, considering Mitama seems to be ending and Moriking was doing ok on the ToCs. TimePara also pretty much tied with it is surprising, imo.

Come on shinuki, it'll probably do agravity-ish numbers which is still a flop (unless it miracolously holds, which again, unlikely). You can't look at me with a straight face and tell me WSJ is happy with these numbers.

I love how Ryuusei is just gathering all the rankings he can from various stores because we're all dying to see how this batch performs. This week is going to be extremely interesting, between the WSJ issue releasing and the new volumes, and it may even help make up for the one-week absence that literally all the magazines will go on next week... x.x

Honestly, I don't even care about TPG nor any discussion about its quality anymore, but at least this is the most hype vol 1 debut since S8 in this thread.
Wonder which outcome will we have, another salt mine or a triumphant parade of TPG faithfuls.
