Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

It's back to normal though.

That's weird. I checked again just now, and mine shows there's only 11 copies left with "scheduled to be in stock" next to it

It has been like that for a few days, they're just restocking with units from storages and such. If there were reprints scheduled we should have heard from them by now. This just shows they printed again some of the lowest prints ever for this whole round. Tweets, complaints and even comments from stores about low stocks have been appearing since release day.

My worry is they're rushing the managaka to serialization due to the mass popularity of the one-shot (and complete lack of sports series atm), regardless of whether or not the mangaka is truly ready.
We could get something half baked, due to the pressure of getting it out.

If we do get Ao no Hako sooner than later, I do hope the author has everything properly planned out, otherwise we’ll definitely be with something that was rushed into serialization

I mean, after the whole last batch was a flop it’s not that uncanny of them to have lower print for the newbies of this batch (aside from AT)

It's not really about last batch, but it has been happening since Samurai 8. Yozakura also got out of stock repeatedly, even before going on sale. Mitama also had lots of tweets and complaints about stock even though not enough demand for it to be reprinted. AGRAVITY BOYS despite its low performance also keeps getting reprinted.

Boy, do I feel that we are setting themselves for dissapointment with Ao no Hako. I am afraid that turned into series it going to lose its charm
To be honest, the signs were right there from the beginning. The good reception, and having built a great relationship with the only romcom mangaka currently running. It was pretty much telegraphed from the start. Jump probably didn’t expect much aside from giving the author a chance at the one-shot, but the reception turned out to be very positive. With WNL and Haikyuu ending, they probably didn’t have much of a choice.

P.S.: I don’t think it was ever stated Blue Box’s author was a former assistant of 22i, right?

Seeing Yokazura in the magazine, they could made Ao no Hako like that (having the main couple be together while other things happen).Or be like Baby Steps.

Well, it could be that Phantom seer is being well accepted. We need to see sales in December.

Agravity boys are dropping sales with each volume, even though it's not as sharp as Moriking.

Everything's getting a colour page these days. Wouldn't surprise me if we see a Blood Oath one in a couple issues, even if it stays at the bottom.

Even if they change it so that they don't get together immediately, I find it pretty hard to see Ao no Hako getting significantly messed up by serialization, since the characters both have respective goals going on in the background, if those get a bit more focus there can still be regular plot progression.

I would personally like a arc for each couple to form that differ in length.

This makes it the third highest-grossing anime film, and the fifth highest-grossing movie in general in Japan, just above the first Harry Potter.
Yeeeeup..... this one’s gonna break Spirited Away’s record in no time.

For this week, it's likely that it will break Your name's record. As for Spirited away, the prediction is that it will surpass it by the end of 2020.
