Nothing really did good but nothing did particularly bad either, eh batch I guess. Also Yoza is in the range that gets inflated by the ridicolous abundance of backlog in the top spot (17k gap between 50 and 100 lol) so not really much to say about that. Jujutsu backlog seems like it should be the highest it's been yet this week, KnY's is down due to stock.

Chainsaw backlog is quite good this week and it has overtaken stone on a VoV basis but that was to be expected.

Man, if wasn't for 30+ backlog volumes of Yaiba and JJK, Yozakura would almost sure be in the Top 50 for the first time =/

Btw, that's some nice increase based on Shoseki estimations with 1 day less than the last:

Mission: Yozakura Family #1: 11,330 (6 Days)
Mission: Yozakura Family #2: 6,595 (3 Days)
Mission: Yozakura Family #3: 11,286 (4 Days)
Mission: Yozakura Family #4: 16,372 (6 Days)
Mission: Yozakura Family #5: 19,123 (5 Days)

Vol.5 in 5 days was close to beat vol.3 estimation for the month:

Mission: Yozakura Family #1: 14,253
Mission: Yozakura Family #2: 15,160
Mission: Yozakura Family #3: 20,566
Mission: Yozakura Family #4: 22,826

We will much probably have a third week for the first time :hee

So probably between 7k-9k for both Roboco and Magu, and 6k-8k for Dolphin.

How does that compare to Agravity Boys' volumes' first weeks? Wondering if this will essentially confirm its death in a couple batches.
A bit hard to tell, vol 3 was 5k in 3 days while the 3 had 5 days, but it seems like the 3 are doing "better" than AB.

To be fair, there's not an exact way to compare them since Agravity Boys has only had 3-day first weeks and this is a 5-day first week. But if we were to compare them, all 3 series would be ahead of Agravity Boys. The series's last volume sold around 5,700 copies in its first week according to estimates. The second week is much more important in this case so we'll have to wait another week.

Nothing really did good but nothing did particularly bad either, eh batch I guess. Yeah, that difference is ghastly. The new volumes that are charting in the top 50 only make it harder. That's why you don't see stuff above the top 30. The bigger the gap between the estimations, the more off the numbers will be. Sucks that we still don't have Oricon's top 100 back. Oh well, the monthly ranking will have to do.

Unless Kimetsu no Yaiba's and Jujutsu Kaisen's backlogs are falling out of the charts by then, which I doubt because they'll probably restock volumes for the holidays, it is almost sure not to happen. 7 Jump series that sell more than Yozakura are releasing volumes that month, Kimetsu no Yaiba will have 2 additional volumes charting (23 and Gaiden, thank god Shoseki isn't counting the special editions anymore) and Spy x Family will have released a new volume a week prior, which will probably boost the backlog. Those alone fill up the entire top 50.

Good week for Yozakura, though yeah reasonably inflated, looking forward to how the volume continues to perform. As for the newbies, not a bad start, at the very least not total failures but certainly could look better.

How do the newbie series sales compare to Yui Kamio first volume? Think that one also posted similar numbers

So i was checking, and seems like this is the first time, at least in 20+ years, that a entire batch of 4 new series is doing decent to good, of course nothing is set in stone but Ayakashi is a hit, Roboco is obviously not going anywhere for a while, Cop & Dolphin is doing decent in the rankings + decent start and Magu-chan looks like the new Agravity Boys, so none of them are a "failure" so far like you always have in these big batches.

I was gonna ask people to explain the apparent Shoseki inflation... but it was then where I believe I understand the inflation now. Yeah, positions 50-100 are really goddamn wonky, to say the least. Oricon should really bring the Top 100, it’s getting really dire.

Why is Jujutsu Kaisen suddenly seeing these crazy boosts now? The question’s rhetorical. I’m happy for the series, don’t get me wrong, but it just makes everything harder to keep track of. Are exorcists just in right now? Was Nak ahead of the curve trying to serialize so many exorcist series?

JumpSQ been doing for a long time, used to be called the exorcist magazine, they even still have 4 popular exorcist/demon series going on (Blue Exorcist, D.Gray-Man, Owari no Seraph and Twin Star Exorcists), the genre was always very popular.

I’m starting to feel it’s a similar case to Kimetsu’s rise. A great anime adaptation+talented director/staff=major success. From the looks of things, people are praising the adaptation to be close in Kimetsu’s quality, so people are coming out in droves to buy it.

I really hope Bones get a good look at this and go all out in making a bang with S6. Mukai simply isn’t up to the task.

My guess Kimetsu’s popularity gotten more people into Manga and Anime and jjk is the only popular anime that airing right now if you don't count haikyuu

Wondering if Jujutsu Kaisen will be able to overtake both TPN and the Quints in this year top-20, with only 1-2 weeks left to close the year. I don't think it will be able to overtake them but it will be interesting to see that.

I really see JJK with the potential to end in the top-3 in 2021 (my bet is it will end 4th-5th though).

Ao no Hako Vomic is out:

Is there a part 2 coming up?

And..... does anyone have a guess who the seiyuus were? If they’re pretty big names, I think we can gauge just how high Jump’s expectations are for this series. The only question is, how it will transition into a series. I’m interested in having multiple pairings within the story.

Is Jujutsu boost that crazy compared to other anime boosts we've seen? (Kimetsu notwithstanding).
