I like the MHA cover, but part of me feels like it would have worked better as a regular colour page.

A little delayed but this might be the new normal with when we get the TOCs now.
  • This half of the cover is... not that good. What a bizarre choice of characters. Bellamy is probably my favourite.
  • If you include the CPs we have the six veterans of the magazine all at the top, and with one more going it's going to feel even more strange now
  • Magu-chan and Me & Roboco at 5th and 6th respectively, both very good and consistent with recent trends
  • Really looking forward to see Flame Eyed Cyclops - what's do we reckon the likelihood of this getting an official translation this weekend is?
  • It's been while since Agravity Boys was dead last, but then again the writing is on the wall for a few of the bottom dwellers at this point
  • Still keeping an eye out on where Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin trends in the next few weeks and especially after the new round of new series/cancellations, it's not in an ideal place right now
  • Another The Promised Neverland side story next week? I'll take it.
Also, that MHA cover is fantastic.

Those are some odd choices lmao, never would I’ve thought I’ll see people like Krieg or Gaimon in the cover but still looks cool and I’m looking forward to the other half of the cover

Really odd character choice of characters in general for that cover but whatever. Midoriya's interaction with Don Krieg is funny and it's probably how it'd go.

Love that cover for volume 29. Didn't expect Horikoshi to make a mention to that scene but it's a good one nonethless.

I guess Phantom Seer will be similar to Yozakura where they both had decent starts to their first volumes but still ranked in the bottom 3.

So great to see Shiro Usazaki back so soon, and her art looks just as good as ever. Glad to know she didn't let unfortunate circumstances stop her creatively and can't wait to read this one shot and hopefully see her back with a serialisation this year.

Although there's nothing to really base this on other than the quick turnaround of this one shot, I'd like to this the editorial department were actively looking out for her in order to get her back to work as soon as possible and give her a chance to return to the magazine, especially since she was on track to becoming an artist of one of the magazine's up and coming hits.

Unfortunately just because Mission: Yozakura Family managed to survive and grow to a safe place in the magazine doesn't mean newer series right now will have the same opportunity. With this issue we've now had seven veterans end in the past seven months, whereas in a standard year most/all of those endings would be from newcomers or mid-tier series that had plateaued.

With Chainsaw Man and We Never Learn now ending, there's a lot of series that could be cancelled even if it seems like they're not doing terrible in sales and would be in a decent place were it a year ago. Unless we get a slew of U19 serialisations for the year none of the series mentioned are safe from the axe anymore.
