Unconfirmed until tomorrow but issue 19 cps would be Roboco and Witch Watch

Where does the leak say that? I haven't seen nothing.

For what I've seen the new series could be this:
https://rookie.shonenjump.com/series/X1vJnKYlmbo/X1vJnKYlmbw

Still, I guess we won't get any confirmation until tomorrow. That leak can still be fake very easily
Was just translating the Japanese title someone posted, and it translated to saying “American Football”

Entirely possible that the translation was wrong, or I just copy and pasted the wrong thing

I don't really know what you're getting at, since my point was it didn't matter if it sold decently because it ranked poorly in the TOC. Even if it was popular, it seems it wasn't popular among the people WSJ wanted to sell it to. Me & Roboco and Magu continue to rank pretty well, so they will probably survive until they drop into the bottom five.

I will never forget you, Phantom Seer. You were an enigma wrapped in a mystery.
And what's the use of Me & Roboco and Magu continue to rank pretty well, if that doesn't perform well in the market.

It's okay Roboko because he has good sales, but magu chan has a terrible screening. And good ranks don't keep you alive forever, if agravity boys who competed for the award were canceled because magu chan should be spared?

There's really not much of a gap in sales between Roboco and Magu despite it getting significantly more promotion. Also Agravity Boys was at the bottom every week, I expect it'd still be around now if it had better ToC.

You need to get it into your head that sales really aren't all that important to WSJ. Sometimes we even see series get axed before they even have a first volume out.

But Agravity sold better than magu chan and came to compete in the same prize that undead unluck won.

There is no way to talk about rank in the case and Agravity.

This is a mistake of the company so, if sales are not important, then what is the reason for giving importance to this when a manga wins CP because of that?

They don't. Series get colour pages as a reward for popularity (aka consistently good poll results), or to promote a new volume release, or for an anniversary or announcement, or just to show it off. Sales are celebrated with editor notes or an extra band around the volume saying the circulation, not with colour pages.

This is how Jump has always worked, we have always seen higher sellers get cancelled after a long period of terrible ToC.

It's very unusual for "it's raining" to be written in Katakana afaik.
I think it might be a pen name, because the other part means "written and drawn by". So I doubt it's the title.

Yeah. WSJ wants a manga to be popular in the magazine, that's why the polls are so important (and the positions on the TOC often reflect it).

We shouldn't forget that people buy the magazine too. And most of these people wouldn't buy the individual manga volumes.

So, sales are still important for WSJ. However, they also care a lot for the magazine sales (not only individual manga volume sales).

Can you explain to me what's the use of Hinomaru Zumou, it continues to rank pretty well, but doesn't perform well in the market?

40,000 every volume for 5 YEARS, no growth. Exceptional TOCs
Every series that past a year eventually sell more than it, and its earlier years are filled with series selling 200k+

It does seem like it's saying the author/artist's pen name is Ameno Furu, consider what's listed after it. But don't we almost always at least have a couple oneshots from an author published somewhere? I know there's people who keep track of this stuff, do we ever see a complete unknown without even any published oneshots suddenly get serialised?

Could be an artist who changed their penname for serialisation though, that sometimes happens.

Not true, series are canceled by both bad ranks and sales, and in many cases they are bad sales. WSJ would not be the best-selling magazine in Japan if it only valued ranks

Afaik, the abbreviation for "american football" (アメリカンフットボール) in Japanese is commonly アメフト or アメフット (Amefuto/Amefutto), not アメノフル.

Hinomaru talked about sumo, which is a traditional sport in Japan, that's why I want to know if Nine dragons would have the same treatment.

But compared to some new manga within the jump, Hinomaru's sales are quite reasonable.

ToC is ultimately decided by the main editors and they should focus more on sales and potential rather than rankings that they have control over. There's no reason why a series like Hinomaru survived so many years with its bad sales and no growth without favoritism
