Seems we are leaving the gagbowl to enter the rombowl. I'm ok with it, romcoms were one of the two genres that Jump needed the most.

Right now, counting Blue Box and not counting Honomieru (and not counting the second new series):
-Adventure/Action: 12 series (put Sakamoto Days there)
-Comedy/Gag: 3 series
-Romance/echii: 3 series
-Sports: 1 series
-Others: 1 series (I Tell C)

If the second new series is a romance-kind manga, and Build King or Shark are the second manga getting the axe, then adventure/action would get down to 11 and romance to 4.

That would be more or less a good distribution, except that spokon are still pretty weak. Only spokon in the roster is Kowloon (dunno if I can consider Blue Box as half-spokon), and it's good but is having a very poor reception, so is very likely going to be U19'd. And the fun thing is that Tokyo Olympics are supposedly happening this year, but spokon is at its weakest.

I would cut down another adventure/action series to 9-10 and add 1-2 more spokon (to have a total of 2-3. 1 can be enough since Blue Box is romance with sports as background). We should get at least one spokon in June batch, but we are talking about Nak. He's able to finally start the spokonbowl in 2022.

jump must be wanting to take advantage of the romcom manga wave, like Magazine, young jump and sunday.

Nearly 40 million? That’s a lot more than what I was expecting.

The numbers were circulating around here was mostly educated guesswork based on data we knew prior to this. Looks like we were off the mark. Unless someone can help break things down.

Smart move. Though I hope it gets translated at some point (officially or unofficially), so us non-Japanese can have some closure too.

The MHA thing doesn't make any sense, around volume 29 it was 30 million in Japan and now it's 37? How did it sell 7 million copies without anybody knowing this?

Even if this was just circulation numbers, printing 7 million copies is such a bizarre move, feels like they want to make it bigger than it actually is.
