Remember when Levi and Eren were discussing who should take the titan serum (armin or erwin)? Eren said "arming is the one who'll save the world". He probably just allowed him to win the fistfight and proceed to tell him "y'all need to kill me if you wanna win", since he easily beat the former up back at the start of the yega-ha revolution. That's my bet at least.

And yeah I'm on the same boat as you, this ending isn't what I was waiting for. It's not the worse I've seen, but it could've been a lot better.

I really don't want to be negative in the finale of this series, but it's so damn hard not to lmao.

I was just hoping it won't be some hippy shit of "we all learned to get along and happily lived after!". But I suppose it is so!!

Anyway, irrespective of what happened in the last few chapters, the first 80-90% of the series was greatness IMO, nothing can change that. I suppose I can be happy with that lol. Considering just the anime alone so far, from season 1 to current episode, was one of the best I've seen. I'll just stop watching once the nonsense "alliance" is formed.

After all Eren said and did, on the basis on purely understanding of reality and self preservation, this was just.....sigh.

As for Armin vs Erwin for colossal titan, ehh. It was just Eren's bias lol. Eren probably didn't start seeing the future/past in a somewhat coherent way until towards the end of season 3

I read somewhere the VA of Eren said it would be a painful or heartbreaking ending. Idk the exact words but it was something like that. And the leak doesn't sound like that. I've expected more cruelty or dramatic but we have to wait until full chapter is out

I haven't visited this forum since the basement reveal (or even before, I think) and I sincerely regret it. Compared to how volatile the reddit subs and twitter have become, I'm glad there's a place to discuss this event where people behave in a calm and civil manner.

The leaks do make it seem like there are some very weird writing decisions on Isayama's part, but considering the entire chapter hasn't been released yet, it wouldn't be the first time the summary has been misleading. A peaceful finale is fitting IMO, as that doesn't necessarily means that the characters will get a happy ending (even though I think some of them do deserve it). Nonetheless, I hope that Ymir's motivations and the political consequences of the rumbling are properly addressed, otherwise it could make the ending feel incomplete.

Haha, I'm waiting as well. But not commenting much before reading the whole chapter and giving some time for me to process it has helped me enjoy things a lot more. I always think you guys end up pinpoint interesting stuff that shapes a bit how I feel it. Looks like we'll rly need to wait for the official release this time to have something reliable, so there's that as well.

The current leaks sound underwhelming, but I wouldn't say they are the worst ending in a good manga ever. The problem is our expectations were way too high. So far it sounds like a meh ending, but overall consistently good story. Once we get the full chapter I'll see where does it fall between bad, meh and decent. But I do like some of the things in the leaks while I consider other things pretty terrible, so for me it's not going to be either Crap or awesome, but somewhere in the 3 to 7/10 rank

Just basing off the spoilers mentioned here. Maybe all this is wrong and I'll look like an idiot when the chapter comes out. Taking that risk, let me start.

This is what some people here, including myself, have been saying for a while.

This is the reality of their world, in the setting shown to us by/post Will Tybur.

There is no magical "we live together peacefully, hunky dory" after everything that has happened over generations so far, especially the rumble. The plot that was set in motion generations ago, which lead to rumbling at this point, cannot be stopped by some 'epiphany'. Completely ridiculous to think that it could happen globally.

This is why we were against the Paradis traitors within the alliance. What exactly did they accomplish? To have a sword hanging over the heads of everyone in the island perpetually? They might have doomed the very existence of their future generations

Yea, titan powers maybe done (I REALLY hope there is some proper explanation for this). But the rest of the world knows which people was responsible for rumble, who had the ability to turn into titans etc. There will always be suspicion whether they would turn back to titans again. And so on.
The natural culmination is either the extinction of Paradis people, or everyone else. In the setting Issayama gave us. Maybe a more pleasant culmination could've been plausible, if the rest of the world were split near evenly in their plans for Paradis.
But, the UN of their world pretty much declared war on Paradis with the intention of genocide. And, I believe it was mentioned that the rest of the world treated Eldians worse than Marleyans did as well. In this setting, I see no other way.


Also, if Eren = Lelouch 2.0 is true. SIIGHH. WHY

I hate ending without proper conclusions to the series. Unresolved plot points and unanswered questions makes it feel like the author didn't know how to deal or answer them. The ending was weak and not satisfying at all.
