Well think this seal the deal with Kokosei, the high rankings, color page and now Furudate recommending, Amazon pre rankings also look better than v1. I dont know how much of this was planned but is impressive that Nakama Ryo was able to turn what seemed like a dead manga into something with good potential to grow.

Good to see Magu getting reprints too, but next round will going to be dangerous unless they only cancel Candy Flurry next round, the mqgazine is getting packed

I am curious how the magazine will look come next round assuming Dolphin, i tell c, and Balls Parade all end since Blue Box should at least start well which really just leaves Candy Flurry in terms of possible proper flops. There's others that generally place low, but they all still get colour pages and get some higher placements which is generally enough to stick around. But something does need to take those 2nd and 3rd last spots, perhaps one of the mid-tier is going to lose steam and stop getting those higher spots.

Though you never know, maybe we'll only get 2 new series next round and one of either i tell c or Ball Parade will manage to survive an extra 8-10 chapters (and the rest of the year will just be batches of 2).

It's still a good few issues until then however so if all 3 do end next round, by then we'll have probably a good idea of what'll be the next bottom dwellers.

Thought comic movies are aimed to sell merchandise, branding, etc and not comics. You didnt see Naruto branded Cheverolets Cameros but you did see Transformers or Demon Slayer combos at Fast Food restaurants or a never ending cycle of tv dramas for every property affiliated with a cinematic universe. The reason I say not comics is they havent ever even tried to tie in *free comic with your movie ticket or free sub to comixixology if you stream this episode*

Also thought the Major comics has largely moved to the unlimited reading platform so it's difficult to quantify such sells as Viz has done here.

I agree. I’m actually a comic reader and am not trying to sound like I’m dissing comics.

I hate the entire movement going on on YouTube and twitter right now that’s basically saying “hah! The comic industry is stupid and getting wrecked by the superior manga industry”; when they all fail to critically think about how extremely different the industries are, and how they’re not comparable for the most part

For the HSF recommendation, the editor currently in charge of the series and the one who (most likely) launched it are both on Honda's team, who launched Haikyu. So given that and the inclusion of volleyball in the series, I wouldn't be surprised if Furudate was asked to do so. Not to say they don't actually enjoy it, but it involved some behind the scenes stuff, I imagine.

Right back to the bottom after the color page for Undead I guess. Witch Watch in the bottom for a second week in a row as well, not super concerned but will be interesting to see how the first volume does. Lowest Samurai has been so far I think. Not a bad first ranking for Blue Box, though I think that doesn't really say much, I mean it got a color page at chapter 7 for crying out loud. Happy to see Sakamoto Days getting a cover, definitely looking like it'll be here to stay and I'm looking forward to seeing what it's numbers for volume 2 will look like.

High School Family is another one of those where some thought it would be cancelled but time has allowed it to build a fandom and establish itself.

Seems like Undead will be locked in the bottom for a while, specially considering everything under is supposed to be ending in few issues, Magu-chan in the other hand still performing quite well despite everything but it will probably fall soon because of the lack of flops.

Sakamoto getting a cover is something i didn't saw coming lol happy for it but come on, how SD can get a cover just for a new volume release but Ayakashi Triangle with the 1st anniversary is just getting regular color pages? at least we're having a more interesting rotation with the covers...

Btw Candy Flurry placed really high for it 7th chapter, let's see how the first ranking will be next week

hope they keep giving covers to the newer series, it seems like every 2~3 weeks we have a Dr Stone cover, the next one after Sakamoto hopefully will be Ayakashi Triangle or Witch Watch
i'm starting to worry about Undead, it seems it's really losing popularity while i'm happy for Yozakura which is going in the opposite direction

It's good to see a Sakamoto Days cover. It feels like we're starting to build a new lineup of potentially regular cover series now which is good.

Also this is the first time in while that Magu-chan has been above Roboco, last was issue #17 I think. Granted it's only by one place which doesn't really matter but still, it's nice to see them compete again.
