I think everyone is jumping the gun a liiiitle early on TES. We're literally in the middle of a big paper shortage that is known to be affecting the manga industry. The incredibly lower sales of this latest Jujutsu Kaisen volume should have been a big indicator, but there's manga from multiple magazines, both big series and series that are definitely growing, that just aren't showing it right now because of production issues.
can you please show us anywhere where stores are saying they are out of stock of these manga with production issues and how a lack of jujutsu kaisen on store shelves is meaning there are less books for people to buy

Sakamoto Days had really good growth from vol 3, even WW should slight growth or at the very least stable and last month BB and Dandadan both had excellent growth and they released at same time as JJK
I know that. I never said every series was suffering because of it. Those are all up and coming series that probably just had more copies printed this time regardless so that they could reach more people to grow more.

in my opinion, this is why writers need to stop doing entrance exams when you first start a story, maybe it worked for most series in the past, but now, you really need to hold off until the 20's or so.
Not exactly, it's really depend on what type of stories you are going for. Entrance exam is a trope, a tool that can be really effective if use correctly but most newbie writers seem to use them as a way to throw characters at the wall and hope one stick

Yeah I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with an exam early on, it worked fine for MHA, Demon Slayer, Mashle, among recent series.
Red Hood's just plain sucked, it established from the start that everyone was going to pass, eliminating all tension and reason for it to happen at all before it even started. Plus when you start an adventure manga about hunting fantasy monsters, nobody wants to see random new characters play cops and robbers for no reason for 8 chapters.

Build King's exam failed, but it was already dying by the time it started (and also had the same problem of feeling like random nonsense rules that are only there so the author can throw way too many new characters at you).

I think Exam are best for teasing the characters and show off their ability. They however shouldn't be use to developing characters and showcase new character backstory (in RH case) or introduce new rules into the world.

Personally if you want to do an entrance exam, it should be based on what the wider story is going to be about. Red Hood should have dropped them off on a island with monsters and see who comes out on the other end. Makes more sense than cops and robbers lol

Ayashimon looks really good for what I've seen. Maruo (the mc) has the strength of Itadori and the inteligence of Denji, and the main girl looks very interesting too.

Also,
I love how Maruo is a fan of 80s Jump. He has Goku, Suguru, Kenshiro and Jotaro as his models of life

There is this mysterious account that I saw last week, which was created this August. I thought it was unrelated with Ayashimon at the end since we got that other official account yesterday, but it seems it is related after all.

Saw the korean raw of Ayashimon ch1 and yeah, this will survive, just by the raw seems like a perfectly fine 1st chapter that will capture the attention of both Jigokuraku fans and the regular Jump reader, seeing the mc in the chapter reminded me even more of Oga from Beelzebub, unless Kaku Yuuji really ruin it with the next chapters like Red Hood, i don't see this flopping.

My worry with Ayashimon is that it'll be full of infodumps, Jigokuraku devolved into endless infodumps for much of the second half and while that's fine once you've already build of a fanbase who's attached to the world and characters, it's a really boring way to begin a series.
Yea I do hope he hold back on doing that I ended up dropping Jigokuraku because of the infodumps

Honestly my only worry with Ayashimon is the short gap between Jigo's conclusion & the series serialization. The series having the same editor as Jigo is reassuring but still worried it may turn/start out like Orient, a series that also had a short gap in it's serialization which resulted in the quality suffering at the start and took some time for the story to improve.

Hoping Kaku had this serialization in mind for a long time now and wasn't rushed/pressured into it since Jigo's anime is around the corner

Reading the scans it looks like a strange mix of chainsawman, yu yu hakusho, and one punch man vibe. Definitely intrigued.

Fun thing is that is the same gap Fujimoto had between Fire Punch and Chainsawman
