Gustang has been planning this all since Enne(possibly even before she when crazy) and long before Baam even entered the tower. He was the one that gave Fug a thorn frag in the first place. When Zahard issued the 3 orders, Gustang's plans didn't change. He just openly declared his intentions instead of working from the shadows. Zahard sent loyal dog Rei in efforts to weaken Gustang. He never counted on Baam's resolve to enter the nest and he certainly didn't count on Rei 's tourney.

Exactly this. Gustang isn't playing catch-up. Rei is. Checkmate indeed lol.

The bandaid was ripped off when Gustang took the bracelet, which was obviously very important to Zahard that he went to all the trouble to hide it.

Gus has, or will shortly have: both new irregulars, the Thorn going exactly where he wants it applied, Zahard's sore spot in the bracelet, the anklet too, probable support from Headon (possibly other admin sick of Zahard's shit), clear support of FUG/Luslec, implied support of Captain/Rev, the prophecy of Arlen on his side, ties with GongBang (he's close with Macseth) and their tech, and ofc his own tech/FH/irregular kit.

He's squatting on Rei's face, in his own house.

He knows exactly what he's doing.

Great. Not having that dead weight would make Gustang more nimble and deadly.

All that matters at the end of the day is the irregulars and maybe a handful of super HRs that are useful (mostly for fighting the enemy HRs).

I don't love the fact that Baam's first instinct is to just run. Traumerei wasn't there and thus there was nothing that he explicitly needed to flee from. Sort of makes him look craven.

Finally something interesting happening, Traumerei should learn how to act properly from Gustang. I hope they fight each other at least a little.
If they do fight, I got the feeling Gustang is gonna obliterate Traum's pets and expose that his controlling emo pet mom behavior is due to his inferiority complex for being an unlovable weakling to his peers.

How to act properly from gustang? In what regard? It's not really clear what gustangs plan actually is but... Isn't there a possibility that the endgame was this rather than whatever he sent tiara for? Wouldn't that show gustang acts in pretty much the same way as traumerei does?

Keep this in mind, then go back and read the chapter 2 chapters back when Baam is in the hotel hallway telling Shilial & Co. that he was going to "find himself" and tell off Rei on his own terms, and promising a solution and escape to everyone.

Getting shit done and actually putting people in their place instead of putting up a bravado he isn't following through. While Traumerei whines to papa Zahard because he has nightmares, Gustang is pimping Traumerei's children in his own home.

No suspence, no tension, comic driven art, a lot lore contradictions to force some magots with a fanbase into the plot....

Khun arrogantly disrespected an unforgiving god and was just let go scot-free.

Zahard and Rei only know what Gustang allowed them to see. That he was pissed off because of Enne, and that he is bad at chess. IMO Gustang Aizen'd the f--k outta Rei. Just watch him remove his glasses and slick back his hair.

Like I've been saying, Baam probably holds the key to accomplishing that and it depends on his willingness to. Does he want to stop them from fighting, or would he rather have them rip into one another and just leave once they're too busy with doing that to stop him?

Would be very very helpful for Baam and FUG if two FHs shared his common enemy. Traum might actually be loyal loyal to Baam if he and V were tight before the memory split. Gustang probs just has uses for Baam
