It's unclear how much gustang does or doesn't care for his family. The most likely scenario is that he feels no more for them than traumerei does. remember back at the hell floor? Gustang pretty much mocked urek for feeling feelings towards the tiny worthless souls in his hand.

My only question is how Khun was able to meet andro. did Rei just say "Ok you can go die with your friends" that is the only part that is not clear. If anything, that is Rei's master plan. how Khun got away.

Traum let AA go to Baam (who is with Goruro) as it means AA interfere with Traum's attempt to punish the traitor (Goruro) which result in nullification of the match. So AA lost the match but so is Traum, the match with AA no longer counted. AA has no other choice as he has to go with Baam to make sure Goruro do not take advantage of Baam.

Gustang not wanting his toys being broken by someone else is not the same as him valuing his family. At the moment it's ultimately unclear how he views them but we have plenty of evidence he does not hold the lives of tower residents in particularly high regard.

Zahard ordering the death of gustang would have been pointless. Completing the order is a physical and conceptual impossibility as of now. Only a family head is a threat to another and even then it's questionable whether they can even kill each other.

Wasn't gustang the one who set up the whole thing to proclaim the war against the empire? He didn't take enough issue with it to simply end aguero for being at the reading (which is what the law says to some capacity at least) and instead sent him with tiara on a mission which apparently tiara didn't even need to finish.

I am not really sold on whether gustang cares or not for anne as a person. he set her up in the princess competition even though it's a deathmatch. I suppose it depends on whether children of family heads are bugs or people.

Firstyou peeps need to read the chapter carefully before making wild accusations. Khun didn’t stop the BH’s spear. He tried with his lighthouse/ice to stop and in the next panel you can Rak and Bam also trying to stop but it doesn’t seem to work. The shield cracks. At this moment one of Khun’s lighthouse glows, enlarges and Gustang appears out of it to destroy that spear and save Khun. As soon as Khun sees the spear, he says, “crap, I’ll die”.

All SIU showed was the frame when Khun tried to stop the spear with his lighthouse/ice shield which gets shattered instantly I guess and then you see Gustang coming out of lighthouse and destroying the spear. I guess all Khun did was slow down the spear for maybe a couple of milliseconds.

I liked the chapter. Interesting to see Traumerie using chess analogy of how a horse can never catch the king to describe the insignificant beings on his ship.This reminded me of Gustang saying something similar to Urek. Something on the lines, “all things those wolhaiksong do are nothing but silly games”. I guess the only people that really matter to FHs are other FHs and irregulars. The rest are insignificant.

There are others things that are unexplained in this chapter. How did Khun and Endorssi are at the place where Bam and rest are? Where did Trau go? Did he went back to his room? Why did Trau said all those things to Khun? Why did he leave Khun alone to escape? Seeing how the LPB princesses along with their mother are escaping along with the rumors of Robadon betrayed the FH, it’s fishy.

-Baam, who is supposedly stronger than a Ranker in base, had the same reaction speed and relevance (or should I say irrelevance) as Rak when they both saw Khun being attack from behind and was portrayed to be at the same level of helpnessless as the other C-class regs out there (Lilial, Shilila, Dravi, etc). As if he couldn't perform any better.
-A bunch of regulars somehow not dying from tercery shockwaves while being this close to several BH level fights.
-BH level fights looking like a punch of D-class regs struggle with zero consequences to the surroundings.

And ultimately, a sudden FH appearance to take the lead. A scennary which should've been epic, generating a lot of hype and fire but ultimately ended up being completely uninteresting and casual due to the extreme idleness in the general plotline, the lack of the chaotic aura that once existed in the series and the maggots forced into something that should've been light years above their current level, turning everyone and everything which once had a value into a bunch of clowns and carebears world.

Now, I'm wondering about those who still take this shit seriously.

I think Traumerei will simply show up to talk with Gustang, if he has a counteroffensive in mind it will most likely have something to do with whatever Lobadon is doing, i don't think the Ark will be the target, unless Lobadon started coming back to this floor after Traumerei leaked the capture of Laura but i doubt so, PBD are also gathering their troops, and Lobadon said that they will strike straight at the FH pressure point. Neither of them really care about Tiara so i doubt he will kill her just to prove a point. The only use of force from Traumerei i could imagine right now would be to simply keep Gustang in his mothership forcefully, even that seems unlikely.

Does he have to, though? It seems like he could also just grab Baam back to him with Cobalt Frog and then leave Gustang sitting there. It'd likely get his Branch Heads killed, but it doesn't necessarily seem like he would even care about that.

I know where I'd put my money in that event. Yeah, I get that Traumerei is an incompetent clown and all that noise but even a much weaker Baam was able to chase the stingray off at an earlier point in the series.

They are fighting for Baam so one of them have to proof to Baam they have good intentions.
