Even Dongus can't bait like this, congrats
To add on, wsj will go bankrupt next year.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Okay, my first time. Please be gentle with me.

One Piece: Unfortunately physical volume selling will continue end ends up at 500-600k for 4 weeks and stabilize at this point. Elbaph wil not end by the time we start 2027 thread but might end by actual end of the year. Jump will finally be forced to diminish its physical tirage if they hasnt done this yet. Remake will start at second half of the year otherwise there will be clear date at least. If the forme it will help backlog but doing little for new volume sales.

HXH: Will have another 10 chapters however if the next batch starts in this year there will be another one down the line.

Me & Roboco: Will not end and gets second season announcement. Maybe change format of anime.

JJK Modulo: Will be prolonged but Gege being Gege it means 55-70 chapters max. Also he will screw up Itadori one way or another.

Sakamoto Days: If it will be very close to ending by the time of next JF if gets another season announcement. Otherwise not.

The Elusive Samurai: Ends obviously. Next season will not give any real boost.

Witch Watch: Hopefully will not end next year. Second season for 2027 spring.

Blue Box: Ends. Next season shall get decent boost again.

Akane Banashi: Anime will be praised for its uniqueness but will not make big waves. It manages to give manga a decent boost. Decent not crazy.

Nue’s Exorcist: NO IDEA

Kagurabachi: Anime announcement either by well known studio or relatively new one that wants to hit it big with this. Either way will be hyped like theres no tomorrow.

Ichi The Witch: Announcement by well known studion and hyped like crazy but not nearly at level of Bachi

Someone Hertz: Will not end and gets anime announcement and maybe even starts it at winter season.

Other predictions

Sorachi make a return with Gintama 2 but it will turn out to be not what people expected. Might be not in Jump

Another new baseball series. Will not stick.

Another football series. Will not stick.

Blatant echi series. Will not stick.

Detective series that somehow manages to stick.

Horse themed group cover
I simply need to see yuji get low diffed. Or for Gege to make it canon that full power yuta low diff full power yuji in all fights. The ensuing drama will be hella funny

Alright time for my predictions:
  • One Piece will keep on trucking as it always does.
  • Blue Box will continue to drag things out and will end at the very end of 2026.
  • Kagurabachi will get it's anime announced.
  • JJK Modulo will also announce an anime adaptation.
  • Another popular series will also get a short spin off published in the main magazine, which will spawn discussion of if Saito is washed or not.
  • Harukaze Mound will live for one more batch (let me be delusional) and also whether it gets axed or not it'll grow with volume 2.
  • Otr gets axed.
  • Someone Hertz despite the TOC ranks sells less than Kiyoshi.
  • Sakamoto Days live action film provides a boost better than the anime does.
As for new series:
  • I have to do my usual prediction of Yu Odoriba debuts in the magazine.
  • They find another big hit battle shonen this year.
  • A new series has a controversial chapter 1, ala Psych House and Time Paradox Ghost Writer.
  • Two veterans return.

My prediction is that Nue’s Exorcist will get an anime announcement in 2026…
Well, that’s the only thing I can think of anyway, because after all, I’m Gakuro’s husband wife.

Weekly Shonen Jump 2026 predictions

I wrote way too much lol

I just had a lot of time on my hands while using transportation.

- One Piece is still in Elbaph when the year ends but we are out of the flashback. We will get a brook flashback this year. Vivi will appear at elbaph.

One Piece will release 3 volumes this oricon year with no month long breaks happening.

One Piece will be the best selling manga of 2027 if japan doesn't go through its bracket at the world cup, if that happens , blue lock is going to be first. Yomi no tsugai has a decent chance of exploding with the anime and taking first but I don't think it will happen.

An actor from the live action show will be on the cover of the magazine again. And the second season is better received than the first. 2027 announcement for s3

The next one piece movie comes out during a break for the anime this year.

The one piece doesn't release in 2026 but we get new information for it at jump festa.

- Hunter x hunter will release between 11-19 chapters this year meaning the second batch of chapters will be cut off by the year ending. This arc will finally have an end in sight at the end of the year. Multiple princes and princesses will die during those chapters.

- Yozakura family S2 will come out in the summer with a new pv at jump festa.

- Undead Unluck doesn't get a second season.

- Burn the Witch doesn't come back for a season 2 but kubo returns to the magazine either with a one shot or new short serialization.

- Me & Roboco just keeps being roboco and doesn't show any signs of ending this year. There will be an announcement for a s2 or a new movie. A chapter will mention one piece going seasonal. One of the series post blue box will get a volume cover parody.

- Sakamoto Days is in the top 10 best selling manga of 2026 because of the success of the movie , lasts at least past issue 40 and will get a chapter countdown announced . Lu won't have any more fights in the series. Another season will be announced at jump festa.

- The elusive samurai lasts slightly longer than people think and ends around issue 20. S2 will come out in the fall with jump festa announcing a 2026 release date with a pv.

- Witch watch doesn't end this year but the main conflict will be dealt with. S2 announced for 2027.

- Blue Box doesn't end this year. S2 airs in the winter with a live action adaptation also getting announced at jump festa.

- Akane banashi keeps going and the anime is well received with it getting a pretty good sales boost that will be enough to put it in the top 10 best selling manga of the year. The anime is only going to be 12 episodes coming out in the summer.

- Ruri Dragon publishes less than 25 chapters this year and no anime is announced but there are rumours. Sales keep dropping but it stays above 50k in a month.

- Nue's Exorcist keeps going and an anime announcement happens alongside the 3rd anniversary , with a cover...:SOON saito . The anime will be from a well known studio. Sales stay stable.

- Kill Blue's anime covers the entire manga with 24 episodes. It comes out in the fall.

- Kagurabachi won't show signs of ending but instead show signs of it lasting for a longer time than previously thought by expanding its world and story. It gets an anime announced within the first third of the year for winter. The anime will look really good from the pvs and everyone will agree that it is going to be the next big thing. It will just barely not be in the top 10 best selling manga of the year. Sales decline slightly until the anime announcement and pv boost sales to around 180k a month. Hokazono will take at least 3 breaks throughout the year and kagurabachi will only have the cover for 2 issues (not counting its upcoming issue with ichi). Only gets two standard color pages.

- Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi will show signs of ending naturally but it wont end this year. It won't get a cover for its 2nd anniversary and the series is permanently in the bottom 5 by the end of the year. Sales deep below 10k in a month.

- Himaten keeps going and gets a cover for its 2nd anniversary. A new girl will be announced. Sales stay stagnant.

- Shinobi Undercover will actually get 2 covers this year and sales will slightly improve and will reach 25k in a month by the end of the year. No anime announced but it will get a stage in jump festa next year.

- Ichi the Witch continues doing really well in the Toc and it will have the highest toc average of 2026. It will get 6 covers and they keep pushing ichi really hard. Sales will slightly improve by the end of the year but it won't reach 100k in a month. An anime is announced in the final third of the year and it will be by a really good studio.

- Otr of the flame /Harukaze Mound are both ending in the first batch of this year. Otr of the flame won't have a crazy ending like red hood but it's cancellation will get a lot of attention online similar to red hood.

- Modulo runs for 30 ± 2 chapters , vol.1 sells more than 200k in a month. It will get the cover of the magazine 2 times. Once for the anime and vol.1 release and once for modulo being close to ending and general popularity stuff.

Jujutsu kaisen and modulo will both be in the top 25 best selling manga of 2026.

S3 of jjk will come out without any unfinished episodes and it will be amazing. Cour 2 airs in the summer.
S4 announced after the last episode.

- Someone hertz will be the only hit of 2025 that will last until the end of the year. The first volume will sell around 15k in a month and sales will improve throughout the year. It gets an anniversary cover and it is a constant in the upper half of the toc.

- Black Clover won't end this year but it will be in its epilogue by the end of the year. The new season comes out in the fall with a pv at jump festa. It will only be one cour but more seasons will be announced. Yoshihara isn't going to work on the new season because he would be busy with Chainsaw man s2.

- All 3 new series fall to the bottom of the toc immediately with Jk Hero doing slightly better than the rest and gets a color page , also lasts an extra batch compared to the other two.

- Horikoshi comes back this year. This prediction may have been influenced due to gege returning so quickly but horikoshi has said in multiple interviews that he wants to work on a new series and that he wants to publish it in wsj. It isn't an mha spinoff.

- Gotouge , Kaiu shirai and naoshi komi will return on the veteran side.

- Nakama tadaichi who did Tokyo Demon Bride , Natsuki Hokami who did Hell Warden Higuma and Watanabe Shinpei from Ginka &Gluna will all return.

- Natsuki Osonoe , Reiya Machida, Kaneko tarou and Kuji Tabigoro will all start their first serializations.

I am finally giving up hope on tsujita taisei getting published any time soon ... Bro has been making one shots for 10 years.

2026 will be a better year with at least three manga lasting longer than a year. Only one new sports manga comes out this year and it flops.

The gfc doesn't happen this year , confirming that it is dead although the winners will eventually come back.

So everybody agrees Ruri will drop on sales and therefore should be axed because of it.

One Piece: Sales will fall under 700K a month.

Hunter x Hunter: New batch of chapters. Sales will fall under 350K a month. No new chaapters till 2029.

Roboco: Will continue being low-tier. Axed by the end of the year.

Sakamoto Days: Axed by the end of the year. No new seasons.

Elusive Samurai: Axed by March. No new seasons besides the second.

Witch Watch: Axed by July. No new seasons besides the second.

Blue Box: Axed after falling sales under 80K a month. Hina's ntr arc will be labeled as its downfall.

Akane-banashi: Will be axed on 2027. Anime does nothing for its sales and goes underwhelmingly bad.

Ruri Dragon: Axed by february.

Kagurabachi: Will enter an 6-month hiatus beginning July. It will get axed due to Hokazono's poor management of schedule.

Kiyoshi: Axed.

Hima-ten: Axed.

Ichi: Sales will fall under 50K. Will be axed due to creative misunderstandings between Usazaki and Nishi.

Shinobi Undercover: Axed.

Otr: Axed. Harukaze Mound: Axed

Modulo: Will end on chapter 26. Will sell 100K.

Someone Hertz: Will lose steam and get zxed by chapter 45.

Gonron: Axed. Mage Next Door: Axed.

JK Yuusha: Axed.

No new series will get stablished and Saito will be fired from EiC position.
I know we’ve (understandably) all been dunking on the troll bait recently but something about betting that the entire magazine is getting axed except for One Piece and HiatusxHiatus is comedy gold to me. To be fair, if anything counts as an axe, then this could be 50% correct by default, since usually each year half of the magazine looks different (although actually, doing a diff between the start of 2025 and now, we only lost 7 series… perhaps due to 2025 not having as many hits as previous years, at least until the end).

I actually haven’t written up any predictions yet, so I’ll need to take some time to do that. I assume we have ample time, though.

So it's time for my predictions...

THE FIRST AND MOST IMPORTANT ONE (AND MOST IRRELEVANT TO THIS THREAD SPECIFICALLY) - BORUTO WILL HAVE IT'S ANIME ANNOUNCEMENT THIS YEAR

-------------------

One Piece: The volume won't reac 1 million copies per month from this year on

Hunter x Hunter: Will release a new volume this year

Sakamoto Days: Ending by July/August

Elusive Samurai: ending on February

Ruri Dragon: The author will have another mini hiatus due his health

Kagurabachi: Will have it's anime announcement this year, and will also crack 250k per month on every volume

Kiyoshi: Will definitely survive and have it's anime announcement this year too, before Kagurabachi, and will get 2 covers this year

Ichi: Will have the most amount of covers this year, even more than One Piece

Hima-ten: Will have a recommendation by Nisekoi's author on volume 8

Shinobi: Will have Kishimoto's recommendation

Otr: WE WILL SURVIVE

Someone Hertz: Will get 1st in the ranking and sell more than all of the other series (from Kiyoshi to Nue/Elusam)

Gonron & Mage The Next Door: Axed

JK Hero: Will Survive

Harukaze Mound: Ending on February

I've been kind of really ill and swamped with assignments so predictions will have to wait, but

Fun fact: this is actually only mentioned on the website, but the SBAA concluded with Chihiro losing to Samura
I had an argument with a few KGB fans because I assumed the iori stuff was a different arc from the whole SBA stuff, and therefore they claimed I didn't actually read the manga XD. Kinda crazy that an obvious pivot to a new arc, with a new setup of stakes and conflict is actually a new arc starting, I don't get why the fanbase decided to pretend that every new arc will have a formal announcement.

I had these typed up for weeks so I could post them as fast as possible, and then I was too tired to actually post them when the new thread opened. Such is life I guess.

Anime:
  • Nue announced around the 3rd anniversary
  • Kagurabachi announced in spring
  • Hima-ten! announced for the second anniversary
  • Ichi the Witch announced right before next year's Jump Festa and it gets a stage revealed after the announcement
  • one of the season 2s airing this year will have an opening that goes as viral as Mashle's second opening and it causes an increase in sales for the series
  • The Reborn anime continuation/remake finally happens
  • Another beloved 2000s Jump series gets a remake (or first time anime if it's Mr. Fullswing/Mx0)
  • The 4 Naruto episodes will be officially acknowledged by Pierrot. I don't know if that means actually airing, a trailer re-announcing them, announcing a cancellation, or what. Just, Pierrot will officially show that they know the episodes still exist.
  • No official announcement, but we'll see the credible "Ruri Dragon is getting an anime" leak from someone like Sugoilite bonus half-joke one: a 10 page discussion about how this doesn't mean Ruri is safe and still deserves to be cancelled
I'll consider this one off the record since I'm not that confident in it, but I'm definitely taking credit if it happens: I have the gut feeling that Modulo might end up getting a movie. It feels like the perfect way to temporarily carry the anime's hype after it ends. I don't know if it gets announced this year, but I'm not going to remember to predict it next year so I'll just put it out there even if I don't really want to predict it.

Current Manga:

  • Harukaze and Otr are the first cuts of the year
  • Hunter x Hunter returns once this year, but the twitter updates will make people hope that there's 2
  • Shinobi Undercover stops growing at 20k, Hima-ten! 18k, Kiyoshi falls to the 8-10k range
  • Shinobi gets the most regular color pages this year
  • The ending order for the mainstay series after Elusive Samurai: Blue Box, SAKAMOTO DAYS, WITCH WATCH. I don't know what season they end or if they're close together, but I think they're all 2026.
  • Modulo just ends. It does really good sales wise, it's going to do fine in the TOC the whole run, and it leaves once it reaches the end of volume 3. No season 2, no changing it into a full series after the supposed final chapter, just the normal "look forward to the author's next works!" message.
  • More stupid doomposting about One Piece the next time we see slightly bad news (decline in sales, Netflix series doing something badly, the remake anime production going badly, whatever)
  • Someone Hertz solidifies itself as the hit of 2025. 10k sales first week, 14-15k first month for volume 1 I hope to god it can get 10k week one. It's going to be a seven day week. If it can't do that, it's over over
  • Someone Hertz still gets less than 10 color pages

New Series/One Shots:

  • Hero Girl is the only one of the three in this batch that shows any fight. Gonron is almost immediately bottom 3, Mage Next Door gets a good rank or two before it hovers bottom 4-6 range and then falls to bottom 1-3 once the bottom (Gonron, Otr, Harukaze) clears up.
  • The Jump Future Project comes back and permanently replaces the Golden Future Cup. That way they can be vague about who did well in the Future Project. Let's them start fresh and avoids making the "GFC winner" situation from looking even stupider. No clue who's in it though.
  • Jump Giga publishes a one shot that is clearly the next big thing™ and gets tons of recognition online (ala Blue Box and Ruri Dragon)
  • Returning Authors
  • Natsuki Hokami (Higuma) serializes Graykeys
  • Masayoshi Satosho (Momiji no Kisetsu) serializes the basketball one shot
  • Naoshi Komi (Nisekoi) serializes either the vampire one shot or something not based on a one shot at all.
  • Yoshiko Hayashi (Mamayuyu) serializes another battle manga, but this time tries to make it more character focused instead of theme focused
  • Not new series, but Jump GIGA one shots: Jun Harukawa (Kaedegami), Yoshiharu Kataoka (Ping Pong Peril), and someone from Jump+ don't know who

  • New Authors
  • Osonoe Natsuki (Tate Roll) - bonus: they serialize Tate Roll
  • Fukamori Shou (Zanki) - I think it's going to be something besides Zanki
  • Sako Masatoshi (Naraka) - If I remember right, this got a lot of positive reception when the one shot was posted on Twitter (over 3.5k likes and almost 500 retweets right now) and if nothing else the art definitely pops. Wouldn't be shocked if the author gets fast tracked to a series ala Matsuri Hatsubina.
  • One of the Golden Future Cup winners (if I had to pick one, probably Izumi Hakase)
Just for the memes, I'll say either TSCR or Genki Yamamoto get a series somewhere before Shirokuma Shirasaki (they're the other two participants from the 2022 GFC who didn't win that haven't gotten a series yet)

  • Jump Authors getting a series somewhere else
  • Shun Numa in Jump+
  • Ken Wakui in a Kodansha publication - don't know which one
  • Tomohiro Yagi will finally make Hitoner a series or do a series heavily inspired by it, on Plus
  • Kaneko Tarou (Demons on a Plate from the Future Project) in Jump+
  • Mapollo3 (PPPPPP) will do a series inspired by, if not outright a serialization of, the princess one shot from last year, on Plus
I don't know who, but I have a feeling a failed author from the 2010s moves over to V-Jump
===

And this isn't a prediction, but my wish: I hope the 2026 series that end up failing aren't as awful as the 2025 flops. I know previous years had some stinkers, but 2025 felt particularly awful when something didn't hit. Kaedegami (and Hero Girl if it flops *knocks on wood*) are the only ones I can really say I enjoyed reading even though they got axed.

Tho in the same vein, cutting randomly to the start of your next arc (for like 2-3 chapters in the middle of the fighting) while in the middle of your arc's final battle has to be one of the worst storytelling hokazono has put to paper, it doesn't ruin either arc per say, but it also just made both worse.

I'm not good with predictions, but I just know that Gonron will be axed as soon as possible.

Maybe, alongside the predictions, we could post our wishes for the 2026 WSJ? I wish Horikoshi was back.

Ok here I go

Current Series:
-One Piece has another 30 chapters this year and although Elbaph doesn't end, it will be nearing its conclusion as after the flashback, we will have 20+ chapters to finish the arc
-One Piece new movie announced
-JJK Modulo will sell around 350-400K
-Kagurabachi gets its anime announced
-Sakamoto Days live action movie gives manga a bigger boost than the anime did
-Ichi the Witch stays around 85K but no anime announcement this year

So now that I am going to be more involved, here is some things I will do before the end of the year. The first is finishing the 2025 Future Project one-shots where I have 2 left. The second is catching up with everyone in Jump. But the final part is giving these predictions to be part of the forum more like I was in 2023 and 2024. So here are my predictions.

-One Piece: Elbaf will not end in 2026, season 2 of the live action series will come out, and the second anime will come out.

-Hunter x Hunter: We will get the next set of chapters in the spring.

-Me & Roboco: Will reach past volume 30.

-Burn the Witch (yeah that’s right, I’m counting it): Will return after Cour 4 of Bleach TYBW.

-Sakamoto Days: Will end in 30+ chapters at best, but at worst if it keeps going 50+ more. Also season 2 announcement.

-The Elusive Samurai: Will end in 4 chapters or 13 chapters. Also Season 2 announcement.

-Witch Watch: Will end in 40+ chapters.

-Blue Box: Probably the most interesting since I assumed one thing about it ending, then we entered year 3. But if I am going to say anything, I predict it will surpass Nisekoi this year and keep going to volume 28-30+ up past graduation.

-Akane-banashi: Will have its anime be a hit, and will exceed volume 30.

-RuriDragon (counting this one too): Will get an anime announcement.

-Nue’s Exorcist: Will have its anime announced.

-Kagurabachi: Will have its anime announcement plus a game from the same studio that is rumored.

-Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi: Will pass chapter 100 and get an anime announcement.

-Hima-Ten!: Will pass chapter 100 and get an anime announcement, plus Ono will do a Jump color spread with all of Jump’s heroines.

-Ichi the Witch: Will pass chapter 100 and get an anime announcement.

-Shinobi Undercover: Will pass chapter 100 and get an anime announcement.

-Otr of the Flame: Will be cancelled.

-Harukaze Mound: I hate to admit it but runs the risk of being cancelled.

-Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo: Will end in 13 chapters.

-Someone Hertz: Will rise and be a hit.

-Gonron Egg: Will be cancelled.

-The Mage Next Door: I’m leaning on it being cancelled.

-Girl Hero and Demon Lord Calls It Quits: I’m leaning on it being a hit.

And now for some side elements.

-Bleach Cour 4 will come, Kubo will return to do more manga for Burn the Witch and Bleach for Jump. With the latter, it will also be seasonal and will give us arc for arc in pieces.

-Kochikame will come back in Jump to do a special for its 50th anniversary.

-The Assassination Classroom movie will be a hit.

-Undead Unluck’s anime special will be a hit and get a season 2.

-More Haikyu hype

And the last thing is the predictions of 2026 on who is coming back in Jump.

-Komi and Aso will return with a romance and comedy manga.

-Failed artist will return in Kento Amemiya, Masayoshi Satosho, Natsuki Hokami, Tadaishi Nakama, Shinpei Watanabe, Daisuke Enoshima, and Elck Itsumo.

-And for debut artists, Ryousuke Momota, Takekawa Kyuu, Izumi Hakase, and Shirokuma Shirasaki (with the latter 2 debuting their two GFC one-shot winners).

P.S.: More Sports and Comedy push this year.

I hope mage next door survives, am enjoying the series just as much as hero girl and demon lord call it quits. They both are my fevorite of this entire new batch and it would suck a lot if both were axed.

I, unfortunatly given up any hope for gonron egg at this point, we know it ain't axing in the first batch but will in the second one of the year.

Forgot to ask, but Shinuki what about your predictions for the magazine?

Also, is there a especific newcomer any one else willing into existence for them to debut? I did that with Hideaki Nabe and it worked, so now i will do the same for the likes of Yuu Odoraiba.
