Did Me & Roboco have a strong first day to bring up the ranking or something? How do these numbers work?
For some reason Roboco started to get some good momentum in the last 2 weeks.

PREDICTIONS TIME!

likely bets:

  • kagurabachi anime announcement is actually real this time, but also nue and a shock sequel/remake (won't specify which)
  • magazine has a huge shakeup this year. the saito era is truly tested once elusive samurai (first to go), witch watch (late 2026/mid-27), blue box (end of year 26), sakamoto days (late 26/early 27) go. however he lucks out and stumbles onto some hits.
  • one of the aforementioned hits is signal all red. it's being fast tracked by mid 26, latest september
  • akane anime is actually decent but doesn't move the sales figures much sadly. it does end up a cult favorite and somehow incites a real world interest in rakugo for at least a little bit.
  • kiyoshi wins over a lot of people by the halfway point of the year. it ends up on a weird nue arc, especially if nue receives anime attention and diverts from scrutiny for a while
  • someone hertz is much more upper tier in the magazine by spring/summer 2026. think like how akane stands right now maybe.
  • One Piece actually does have the new anime news this year, and my prediction from last year about the voice actor comparisons is just off by a year.
  • There is a potential month-long Kagurabachi hiatus. During this time I am feral.
  • Undead Unluck really does get a season 2 and get people to change their minds on it.
  • A new genre shift is upon us and it speaks to Saito's editorial approach of chasing trends than what Jump normally prefers to serialize.
  • we hit 1000 pages really fast this year. this happens because you dorks keep replying to obvious bait and the bait posters keep being allowed to post their nonsense.
    plausible happenings:

    • HxH publishes more chapters than people realize, but we don't make it past the arc. I am still uncaught up to HxH despite getting spoiled at some point by a major event.
    • GFC remains a loser constant. Tate Roll still isn't realized but on the off chance it is, it flops and people are very quick to change their tune on it.
    • A spokon debuts but doesn't survive. again.
    • Unexpected Shonen Jump crossover collaboration. It gets a lot of attention on one of the smaller series.
    • This is a veteran heavy year instead of a newbie one. The veterans are not the successful ones and the newbie ones end up dominating, except ironically the most anticipated ones, barring Signal All Red.
    • Ichi the Witch dominates TOC/Color pages again, followed by Shinobi and Akane.
    • Mage Next Door lasts a while and has a lot of naysayers turned fans.
    • unrealistic but here you are:
      • chojo in jump+ once the anime is out. maybe kill blue too.
      • niche hobby manga dominates the magazine by the end of the year. the hobby is toy focused OR fishing. bonus points if there are powers involved.
      • magazine poaches more mangaka from elsewhere. this time around it's a romcom/romcom adjacent author, maybe Masamitsu Nigatsu of Honeko Akabane's Bodyguards fame.
      • Otr has completely 180'd its current reception and is still ongoing by the end of the year. Conversely, many well backed series are donezo.
        lmao you wish:
      • furudate returns and it's a haikyuu sequel. he had literally nothing else in the tank.
      • Kubo publishes the [redacted] arc or more Burn the Witch. these tie into the anime changes that are coming with cour 4 of Bleach TYBW.
      • Dongus is finally banned for inciting a 20 page Nue vs the newest harem manga that debuts by summer 2026 flame war. His last words are mathematical proofs comparing bust sizes and he's banned before he finishes it. Somehow, this is tied to RuriDragon again.
      • Shock cancellation of a beloved B tier manga hits. The following batch after cancellation is actually so successful we forget Saito's status is perilous. The Saito redemption arc goes crazy.
      • One of our own is an internal Jump rep and is exposed as such. Potentially even Saito....I know there's real lurkers here.

Didn't have a lot of Nostradamus clairvoyance possessing me but I had to post because we're moving fast and I need to have something up before TOC tomorrow. Reused some predictions from last year but I think they still apply! It'll be even more turbulent this year so let's strap in for the ride, happy 2026 WSJ everyone <3 (yes, even the ragebaiters)

Sorry for the late.
Here my 2026 predictions:

One piece: elbaf will wrap up after the flashback
Roboco : still continue
Kagurabachi: Anime announced. A HUGE success
Sakamoto: finishing around March/April
Blue box: finishing around summer/Autumn time
Elusive: finishing around March
Ichi the Witch: getting anime and huge popularity keep going
Kiyoshi: getting anime, the series rises to 20k sellers
Shinobigoto and Hima ten: medium-good audience
Akane: Anime is success, will wrap up and enter in the final arc at the end of 2026
Witch watch: will end at the end of 2026
Gorong egg, hero and demon, harukaze, otl: Axed
Mage will manage to survive for a little
Hertz and ruri dragon will keep going crazy. And Hertz will have its first cover soon for popularity reason.
Modulo will finish in February probably

Authors that will return:

Iwashiro toshiaki, also because of Psyren anime announcement
Akira Amano
Burn the Witch (i wonder what has happened with this franchise)
Hunter x Hunter
Toriko's author
Hideaki sorachi return on Weekly shonen jump
A NisioSin series
It's very very difficult but would like Kishimoto or Gotouge return

Big news: an AI manga got a big prize in a Shueisha contest. The henshuubu couldn't (?) see it was AI. This guy got 100 man as prize money.
It's Young, but maybe it will be our beloved Jump Shinsekai next time.... :emobirb

I think nemu is talking about this one.

Link to the raws.
Thanks, I don't understand this insert stuff. :smile-big

Kiaida, it IS related to jump, because Young is Shueisha as well. We're not talking about a title in particular published by Young but AI manga and the possibility that Jump allows it because we have the proof that Young is (as for now). Jump is not totally independant from other henshubu, from Shueisha or other publishers. They talk to each other in meetings (proof on the internet). You can be sure that Jump editors are looking very closely at this right now to know what kind of posture to adopt and what kind of answer they're gonna give to Jump readers AND aspiring mangaka regarding the matter. It's an ecosystem.

There was already a AI one shot that won something on Jump Plus or some other platform if i remember well, it was either 2024 or this year, it was posted in the thread, so is nothing really new.

Note: Important to notice the account only counts tweets in the first 24 hours of release, not a whole week or something so the number of mentions is the total of mentions in this 24 hours timespan each week during the year.
Wasn't it actually only the first hour? I don't know if they still do that, but these numbers are way too low for me to think otherwise. I refuse to believe One Piece of all things only gets about a thousand posts on release day, and to that end I think it's also interesting to look at the numbers from the perspective of "is this indicative of popularity, or which series are more likely to have fans who are awake at midnight," because no matter how you slice it there are some strange ass outliers.

Not even just Nue, although that is absolutely the most obvious one, but like Shinobi over Sakamoto. Marginal a victory as it is, that's crazy to me.
