#3. No toxic attitude towards series, no one is obligated to enjoy any series and it's totally fine to criticize what you don't like, just avoid posting gratuitous hateful or toxic comments about X or Y series, if i notice this behavior, comments will be deleted.
#4. Don't bring politics or off-topic stuff to the thread, this is about Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and mangas, so keep any conversation about topics that aren't related about anime & manga outside the thread.

#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

I really wish a Mecha shonen these days, sadly its not popular anymore.
Me too, fellow Gundam pfp user. Me too :(

Also i'm really excited for the potential WT remake. I really like the series - though I haven't really liked the recent stuff though, moving FAR too slowly and i wonder if the author even remembers what the main plot is anymore, but this could be the thing that reignites my love for the series. Also, like i've said a few times on here - i like Sci-fi...and WT is Sci-fi, maybe not HARD, full on Sci-fi but still.

Anyway Issue 1 rankings:

Tier 1 (Great):

1 - One Piece
2 - Akane-Banashi
3 - Kagurabachi
4 - Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi
5 - Ichi the Witch

Tier 2 (Good):

JJK Modulo
The Elusive Samurai
Shinobi Undercover
Someone Hertz
Witch Watch
Otr of the Flame

Tier 3 (Ok):

The Mage Next Door
Hero Girl and Demon Lord Call It Quits
Gonron Egg (BY FAR it's best chapter so far, to the point I was shocked lmao)
Sakamoto Days
Hima-Ten
Harukaze Mound
Ruri Dragon
Blue Box

Tier 4 (Bad):

Nue's Exorcist
Me and Roboco (yeah the jokes this week didn't translate well at all imo unfortunately)

But anyway, happy for the fans, i feel like they're just kinda going to reanimate the first 70-ish episodes season that were in fact really rough, i still remember well how people here (and in general) were disappointed with the 1st episode quality.
I can remember that first episode’s “quality”. Also, the first opening, while not bad from a music standpoint, that was lackluster too.

Honestly I wonder if they'll just do something like the recent Fishman Island remaster.

Do people here want to watch the first opening of World Trigger to see what I mean that the animation was lackluster in some spots?

If I had to give any comments on the visuals of season 1, I’d say the main thing that unnerves me is Chika and Shiori making smiles that feel devoid of soul at times. Animation-wise I can tell it’s not very outstanding, but it clears my admittedly low standards.

I will say that the second opening song is a banger though, can’t get that out of my head now.

Honestly the main thing i remember about the WT anime in regards to its opening(s) was that it would play basically halfway through the episode rather than at the start. It was basically the halfway point eye catcher rather than an "opening" lol. I can't remember watching an anime that did that before, not as frequently as WT did at least lol.

I don't know why you would expect that when Blue Box was considerably more popular than Ichi from vol 1 lol
I dont know, you guys are always going on and on about digital sales so maybe it compensated there? I think I just thought that the battle shonen that's being prop up as kagurabachi's rival and the next big hit will be, you know, a bigger hit. Not that 1.2 mil is bad or anything, but wow did I expect more.

Everyone was hyping this series up, like it was the second coming of christ and at the start, everyone was predicting that this series would someday overtake bachi, but the gap between the two of them by volume 6 is pretty damn huge. I guess, the constant promo and spotlight that jump gives it, gave me some pretty large expectations.

Ichi must definitely be doing pretty well digital, the circulation is also a average of 208k copies per volumes which for a series with only 6 volumes is pretty great.

I'm not really getting the comparison with Kagurabachi, both One Piece & Naruto were in a different league of sales compared to Bleach, even more with Toriko, and that still didn't change the fact they were flagship series aka Big 3 in their time, the series still growing and it's quite universally loved right now and Jump can rely on it way more than Kagurabachi when it comes to representation with covers & color pages but still, not everything will have the luck of going viral like Kagurabachi had.

Yeah everyone begs for Hokazono to get more color pages, and then the minute he gets one the chapters suffer. Maybe not on the level of the most recent too, but the art has recently gotten rough/he's taken a break before the past few covers. Meanwhile Ichi is a work by a duo, and usazaki is clearly capable of churning out those color pages. (As of now at least). Its not really a mystery why its been getting so much promo, its popular enough, and an easy pick for a week they need a random color.

Could have fooled me, with the way that jump is pushing it. I mean bachi only got popular due to word of mouth. Ichi has the advantage of having a pretty vocal fanbase AND the backing of jump. Guess, im kinda salty about the favoritism this series gets and the neglect that jump has been doing to their other mangas.

But anyways, I'll get over it. I'll just focus on the fact that Blue box is a pretty impressive series. I always knew it was popular but wow, Jump is gonna have a pretty hard time finding a replacement when that ends. Let's see if Someone hertz, would be a good successor.

The way Jump is pushing the series is totally acceptable, specially for the moment, it's a nearly 100k new series (in the month) which is a battle shounen that is for sure going to run for much longer than stuff like Sakamoto and probably Kagurabachi too and they can fully push it with covers & color pages, i wouldn't call it "favoritism" when the series is checking all the boxes when it comes to being an immediate future flagship, Saito & cia know that Ichi has the potential to become really big in Japan and worldwide.

So do you think BB gonna be bottom 5 again?
lol would be funny
