WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP THREAD RULES​

#5. Don't post news about series from other magazine or publishers in the WSJ thread, post in the series own thread, but it's fine if you're mentioning other series or magazine to express a opinion or reflection about Shonen Jump.
#6. Any tweet, specially japanese, about news, update or some interesting thing about the magazine or series has to come with a text of what that tweet means and also be on topic, if not it's going to be either deleted or i will edit the post.
#7. Refrain from self advertising or advertising Youtubers videos in the comments.
#8. Constant fanart posts just for the sake of praising a favorite series is prohibited, this rule doesn't apply for official art by Jump artists posted on social media, they're fine to post.
#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

No, i live in the city, this doesnt happen usually, i suspect it was some maintance because it happened exactly like this before, even the same returning hour, the thing is that it happened in the worst day, literally in the moment i got the Cover, ToC & Preview in hands super earlier, boom, internet went down, felt like a prank lol at least Aniking made the favor of posting the cover or else it wouldnt have been posted yet lol

Man that sucks. But Shinuki, what did you think about alien headbutt since you have early access compared to the rest of us? No spoilers btw since Nuesmoker requested that we don't.

Also did you see the one shot called crazy bash by shou shiromoto? As well as one made by Hirokoshi Ame?

Another author that I think has a very strong shot at debuting would be a former assistant for both Bleach and Mashle called Shou Shiromoto, who debuted crazy bash in Jump Giga Autumn 2025


These two have quite a professional style of art, it feels less amateur than many others before them.

Thank you. This gave me lots of context about how this partnership started. Definitely big thanks to Nishi for coming to Usazaki and for them to have one of the best series in the magazine presently.

For rounds above 2 new series, it took me a while to find an example of all the series surviving. The first example I saw was from 1993, Issues #35-38

#35: Tottemo Luckyman (1993-1997)
#36/37: DNA^2 (1993-1994); Short but received an anime
#37: Hell Teacher Nube (1993-1999)

I definitely could've missed one before, I was relatively skimming but if all 3 somehow survive, would be quite the feat. Truthfully, I don't think it'll happen but would be interesting.

Genuine question, does Osamu wa Roba count as a success? It lasted 2 years, sure, but also got no anime and only was 7 volumes. I wouldn't personally call High School Family a success and it did far better. But, I might be being too tough on each

I had this question as well outside this forum. Were you curious about 1993 due to all 3 titles had an anime? I mean yeah I know DNA^2 had an anime but I would hardly call it a major success, but more of a cult hit than anything.

Really hard to say because it came out in a time where getting an anime was harder. Nowadays it's pretty easy to spot a success by the anime. I would count it as success for lasting two years during Jump's Golden Age though. I do think High School Family will be considered a hit now as well. for its length it was basically the only exception in two decades.

Personally, World Youth is harder to count in that batch. It's a Captain Tsubasa sequel starring the same characters even.

I guess it's kind of a passed topic but what's the speculation on why Jump adaptations just randomly started taking forever post DS? I can't even say it's an editorial thing because it's wholly inconsistent and weirdly enough it's effecting the successful series that Jump is to looking for more than the ones Jump is apparently fine with letting go like Chojo and Kill Blue. Truly the most bizarre thing that's become common place in the magazine. Assuming the leak for Kagurabachi is real I have full faith in Cygames Pictures I just wish we didn't have to wait almost 3 years. Like the fact that Nue is coming up on Chapter 150 with not even a hint of an announcement in site is crazy. Especially since both most likely are Winter to possibly even Fall 2027 series brutal stuff.

Honestly, I just don't know. It wasn't always like this, but if I were to hazard a guess it's more likely stems from the fact that anime studios are taking longer time to develop series.If not that it may just be something within Shueisha HQ that is having issues filling the blanks or something.

Hm, its taking longer to have the color pages revealed but I guess that has something to do with poor Shinuki's internet or whatever he is having causing porblems. Man honestly I was a same boat but instead of 10 hours, it was a full 48 hours.

Nue anime will be announced on March. I wouldn't count having leaks as really important since there were no rumors of a RuriDragon anime being done by KyoAni and we got it.
