I still want to understand Why he even loves Garam so much, since apparently it wasn't something like a love at first sight kind of thing (like i expected it to be from the FoD interaction).
He met a Garam here that's a mostly ordinary girl and quite a clueless one at that tbh. There's no way in his millenary existence he hasn't found someone comparable from my pov.

Gustang definitely used the definition in a more derogatory way though, Urek seems to be more neutral about it.

Quite, but not so.

Because to Urek, Gustang and the rest of the Great warriors would be included in his view.

Plus Urek still believes in the free will of all living beings, just not freedom from consequences of their actions.

But primarily, to him nobody really matters much until they prove themselves to have something good in them.
