WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP THREAD RULES​

#6. Any tweet, specially japanese, about news, update or some interesting thing about the magazine or series has to come with a text of what that tweet means and also be on topic, if not it's going to be either deleted or i will edit the post.
#7. Refrain from self advertising or advertising Youtubers videos in the comments.
#8. Constant fanart posts just for the sake of praising a favorite series is prohibited, this rule doesn't apply for official art by Jump artists posted on social media, they're fine to post.
#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

You know, with Blue Box probably ending next issue, and Sakamoto Days likely to end in August, we might have the new big 3 signature cover series as soon as the Obon double issue next month.

I imagine it'll be Ichi and Kagurabachi (if it's back), but Witch Watch and Akane-banashi have received anime now so perhaps they'll go with them instead for that reason?

Imagine becoming Editor in Chief of the magazine and in the span of only 2 years in the job you not only lose the 2 current flagship of the magazine, My Hero Academia & Jujutsu Kaisen, but also lose the 2 flagship series that filled their spots, Blue Box & Sakamoto Days! LOL

And some be judging Saito for wanting to have the Bleach sequel running for a while to fill the big hole left when Jump is about to go through their worse period yet...

Well, he gave the books for someone instead of throwing away, that's a good thing, Shueisha did these things knowing well what would happen so in the end everything ended well in this case.

But people swear the current scalping isn't a big thing or happening at all. This is all over some silly merch, imagine actual first volumes with recommendations by famous authors.

This sequel has been planned for years, it's not happening because of the final cour but is going to start around the time for obvious advertisement reasons.

This whole scalping situation only intensified like this recently. lol We didn't have reports like this for previous events, it's clear something is happening. If these volumes were so popular the digital sales wouldn't be so much worse in comparison to the physical volumes. It's not like I'm making this up when it's japanese fans talking about it.

It is a great idea ngl. Or have the mangaka giving obi recommendation draw fanart of the newbie mangaka's characters and include it as card

This is so mindblowing. I am familiar with Natsucomi bonuses because i collect them too for years. And from my experiences, those bonuses rapidly dropped value to the point you can get multiples of them (e.g. 10 cards) very cheap if you just wait a few weeks/months etc. It is not worth it buying so many mangas for them, man. Wtf. I am able to scoop the bonuses cheap in mercari all the time annually.

That Ichi LCP looks the best so far! Not surprised Altra and Sachiko are given the spotlight. And that Kaisei CP really sells the chapter.

I'm not a fan of the Akane-banashi colour page. Maybe it's meant to be a reference to Gegege no Kitaro or something, but the extremely round head and high up mouth just makes me think of Nathan from South Park.

Under Doctor back down to the bottom again, so it seems like people don't like the battles or the drama. In that case, who on earth is buying the volumes? It can't just be scalpers with numbers like those. Old people nostalgic for Black Jack? Or, considering the one higher placed chapter is the assistant's daily life, maybe people are just simping hard for her but don't like anything else about the series?

I think some tend forget important details about Under Doctor:

-Jump gave 2 color pages before volume 1 released, the only series of the round to get even 1 extra cp
-They created a Twitter account for the series and nothing for Kinato
-Under Doctor sold 12k copies in 4 days outselling Shinobi Undercover, which means they printed at the very least 15k copies without having any idea about scalpers or whatever which also means they knew or expected the series sales to be at least 10k copies which already puts it at Kiyoshi level, so they knew the series was somehow "popular" before the volume was even released.

We already went through this situations with Phantom Seer pulling 20k+ copies while ranking terrible, Under Doctor has plenty of time to rise in the ToC since it's at the very least safe for the next round.

Ok, let's do something, Hatori and Furuta's Extraordinarily Ordinary Life vol 2 will have a Kishimoto recommendation, you cant get a much bigger author than him, vol 1 sold 1,511 copies in 5 days, if vol 2 gets a significant boost in sales, which for a 1k seller it means even something like 5k , i will say that yeah, it's scalpers and UD is maybe a fraud but if the manga stay selling the same amount we come to the conclusion that scalpers is just one, and not even that relevant, part of the sales, right?

We will just to have to wait a month. Vol 2 of Under Doctor will come on August. As soon as we get the first Shoseki day, we will know what is true.

It hurts for me to say it, but it's very likely the same scalpers to those pokemon cards. They don't read manga, they aren't around long enough to know how natsucomi card works, or even how one piece books are supposed to look like. They saw one piece and how it got sold in mercari and thought they could resell it with higher price (they are bragging about how they can sell them at 9k yen). Literally what I saw on facebook with a simple search on natsucomi. It sucks and I hope this bombs them
