Alright, everyone, stop pretending to clean and look busy; gather around. McManagement is just now arriving in our raggedy parking lot. I think we're out of time here. Well, they (and I) walked through the front entrance expecting to inspect the freshly disposed of rat infiltrator. Instead, you managed to kill the only guy in here who had an actual future, the med student flipping burgers to earn a buck. You know our recruitment strategy hinges on being able to attract poor students, right? We can't have them dying on us. My Ronald... We finally hire someone competent, and immediately lose them. At this rate, the only people applying here will be ex-Rat employees and those weirdos who genuinely enjoy working in this hothouse.

During our stand-up AGILE sit-down LEAN meeting, corporate began throwing around fun and exciting new phrases like "store restructuring", "asset liquidation" and, my favourite, "location consolidation". That one sounds funny. Had I gone to school, I might have known what these phrases meant exactly, but, judging by the size of that bigass bulldozer parked outside, I'm going to guess I shouldn't be optimistic.

Ah, hold on, HQ is calling. *click* (omomomo) True, we will be Filet-o-fucked. (omomomo) Right, they whoppered our Big Macs, true. (omomo) That sounds like a slur, sir. *click*

They hung up on me after uttering words and phrases our Lord and Founder would decidedly not approve of.

Long story short, team, It's Roever. Apparently, they are going to consolidate us into the BR across the street. Their managers have completely taken over the restaurant. They replaced our kiosks with their laggy ones, painted our Golden Arches into rat-tail brown, and customers coming in for McChickies walk away with Whoppers. We have failed. As a business, yes, but also as a society. We enter into a grimdark timeline devoid of any McLaughter.

As for me, corporate said I could reapply internally. An extended olive branch, you'd think, till I realised their only vacancy is "assistant shift manager". I do get a specially outfitted paper crown. I have to learn how to make a Long Chicken within the week, and calling it anything else will be considered a McOffence.
