WEEKLY SHONEN JUMP THREAD RULES​

#1. No fights or personal insults.

#4. Don't bring politics or off-topic stuff to the thread, this is about Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and mangas, so keep any conversation about topics that aren't related about anime & manga outside the thread.
#5. Don't post news about series from other magazine or publishers in the WSJ thread, post in the series own thread, but it's fine if you're mentioning other series or magazine to express a opinion or reflection about Shonen Jump.
#6. Any tweet, specially japanese, about news, update or some interesting thing about the magazine or series has to come with a text of what that tweet means and also be on topic, if not it's going to be either deleted or i will edit the post.
#7. Refrain from self advertising or advertising Youtubers videos in the comments.
#8. Constant fanart posts just for the sake of praising a favorite series is prohibited, this rule doesn't apply for official art by Jump artists posted on social media, they're fine to post.
#9. Don't discuss or hype chapter spoilers before Sunday release, only comment if is related to a series surviving status and do it only inside the spoiler tag.
#10. Regarding rule #9, an exception will be made for when we have new series, in this case, spoilers will be allowed only for the first 3 chapters of a new series for the users who are interested in knowing informations and details about the new series, these spoilers will obviously be kept under tags to protect anyone that doesn't want to be spoiled, so don't worry about it.

Average kind of spot for HAL. Not doomed but not great. Animal signal barely holding steady. Neither in the clear yet.

Nah, there's a few people who do, I always see complaints that it returns into the back half of the mag.

Yeah I'm just asking because the past few cases of back-to-back color pages ended with a cover on the second one. Like this year we had modulo, Shinobi, and Hertz. Figures Kiyoshi would somehow be an exception to this.

It just got a cp last week and now is getting 2 more consecutive color pages, the Paladin ceremony and current arc must be doing really well in the survey because Kiyoshi never got this amount of color pages even when it was at the peak of the rankings lol

Kiyoshi is one of the best manga that got published on WSJ. It may sell less than a gag manga, like Roboco and may even be saved only because of current flops on the magazine, but you can't deny its absolute popularity. Once the anime comes, you will see.

They just can't see its greatness. It may be a mess storywise and everything, but it is an okay mess.

The elementary kids must have really gone all out picking Kiyoshi in the survey the past month lol

There are exactly 0 metrics that back Kiyoshi doing "extremely well" with the surveys. It's the worst selling manga of the magazine, has the worst digital sales by far, has basically no presence online, doesn't get any type of fanart or merch, etc. It sells well enough to keep on the magazine and should be properly rewarded with marketing and a few color pages, but I don't believe for a second in the invisible kids that love Kiyoshi more than the other stable series.

Kiyoshi's only had the two anniversary covers so far, it would be nice to see it get at least one normal cover non-anniversary non-anime announcement before it ends.

I see them shoving HxH into 3rd last to pretend Class 2B is doing better. I really wonder how HxH actually performs in the surveys, 10 chapters per run means it technically is around for 3 survey results but placements don't matter for it so I've always figured Jump just shoves it wherever.
