1, Roku's House of Oddities 17
AMAZING CHAPTER. I was so scared that this would be exorcist-manga-like but nope! Fight is done in one page (Which looked amazing btw) and instead we focus on the story of this child. Everything about this chapter was great. Good pick for this to be the one with the Cover & LCP. I feel so bad for the parents but seeing how both of them dreamed of the child and cried together when they woke up was so cute. I love this series man.
2. Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi 103
Usui cooking once again. Kiyoshi losing due to Misogi cheating to create a moment alone with the other three was so cute. Her being surprised about them knowing that she loves Kiyoshi is hilarious; I didn’t expect such a heartwarming talking between Misogi and the other 3 but Misogi’s death flags are rising for sure; I don’t think that she will actually die but it for sure is a possibility. Maybe she already expects her own death and therefore asks them to continue to support Kiyoshi? This mini arc did a great job establishing Kiyoshi & Misogi's relationship I love them so much. Also potential Nehan & Jack Joe powerup soon; we didn’t really see anything from their training so hopefully that means we will see them two in action soon again.
Also fantastic character moment from Misogi (she has so many this chapter lol); not wanting to place the burden on Kiyoshi and instead preparing to take on Rushihara herself “even if it kills me”. Lets pray for her best!!
We also seem to jump right into the next Arc. I thought Usui dropped the traitor plotline but he picked it back up I’m so glad! Sadly it seems like Sakaki won’t be part of this arc either which is sad but fine. As for who could be the traitor I would think a new character? Could also be Jinta Kanatsuchi since he has always been there but in the background and is kinda crazy (or the guy whose face we didn’t see when Sakaki mentioned that the “people he trusts the most” will help; we still haven’t actually seen him). Maybe Ginzan from the Knights of Light?
Also Angels mentioned again at the start of the chapter! Hopefully Usui will dedicate a arc for the angels next.
3. Hunter x Hunter 416
FANTASTIC CHAPTER. After so much planning and negotiations (which was 10/10) we have finally entered a more “chaos phase” for this arc. Finally some screentime for Camilla; the point Benjamin brought up with a disease is so interesting and Camilla seems scared so she is pretty much cooked lol. “I don’t fear death but do you?” is a great question from Benjamin. Really wonder what Camilla's last play will be.
FINALLY TSERRI FOCUS; very interesting decision from Salkov too; he is so cooked lmao but it is cute that he wants to do it for Theta. Benjamin instantly shooting Tserri was so fucking funny. I don’t know what Tserri’s plan is; I can’t wait for the next chapter.
4. Animal Signal 9
Tsubasa buying dog food so he can image feeding it to one is so stupid and funny I love it. Nice introduction for Roga; him wanting to show his dominance meanwhile Tsubasa is just amazed to see it and pisses Roga off with that; cute. Feels like they want to attract Fujos with this one lmao. Great Chapter
5. Ichi The Witch 93
I like Boxter already; the page with him and the witches (+ Gokuraku) on the motorcycle is so cool. Amadoro giving her motorcycle a name is so funny and her having been happy when she heard that Kumugi wanted to assist her was a nice extra. Amadoro is slowly starting to grow on me too. Very excited to see how this ends!
6. Kagurabachi 127
Shiba spying on Kunishige and Chiaki with a grin was so cute. Kunishige throughout these last couple of chapters has been amazing. “Chiaki.. My life finally gains meaning when I risk it for you” is so lovely. I’m scared for the future chapters lmao. Previous members of the Masumi!! so cool to see that. Great Chapter overall; a bit sad that it was only 15p since this is the second chapter after the hiatus.
7. WITCH WATCH 257
Very cute scene at the start between the mothers. Great set up for Morihito vs Shikimi. The panel where he screams at Morihito looked very cool. These last 3 chapters made me really like Shikimi. Not much to say but still a good chapter.
8. UNDER DOCTOR 27
On one side I love his this chapter but it could be so much better. I think making Haiji this super Doctor God with a supernatural eye ability is the series’s biggest mistake. By concept; this is all I wanted from the series but seeing how it is handled with Haiji as the lead im disappointed. Due to Haiji having this ability there are no stakes at all and stakes are like the most important thing in medical dramas. To be fair this chapter was also more about Eiji so I’m not that salty about it but damn… I wish Haiji wasn’t Doctor Jesus.
9. Drawn to the Fire 16
This match is really good so far; better than all Harukaze Mound matches thats for sure. Hirae is a cool enemy here in the way he forces Mizuhara to adapt; Also Mizuhara’s & Natsu’s dynamic continues to be the best part of the series I adore their friendship so much. Hopefully the next chapter can focus more on Hirae as a character overall and potentially give us a small look into his past with Natsu; hopefully he can regain his fire this match.
Overall I like Higurashi as a character but damn this chapter also made we wish this series was a different sport; something like Badminton which is 2v2. Sakishima and Uba are just so boring man…
10. Akane Banashi 217
Akanes and Kaisei’s conversation was great! Im glad we got this; also set up for a future duel (hopefully in a bigger tournament style next time with features of the others!). I still don’t care about Zensho and aren’t really excited to see him perform next but the final pages gave me at least some excitement. “King of Tragedy” sounds interesting enough.
11, Shinobi Undercover 92
Very cute Color Page! Very MHA-coded. Love it. Also nice chapter overall. The new fugitive ninja seems interesting; it appears so that Umineko could know who he is? I forgot what the reason was for how the Kamuro Family Head died but maybe he is tied to it? Kijibato was also cool this chapter, just hope that Kawasemi doesn’t look like a fool by the end of this again lol.
12. Nue's Exorcist 156
Thank god Shitotsu gets to fight Yagyo too. Its been forever since she actually got to do something (at least it feels like that for me). I wasn’t a fan of her transformation last chapter but this chapter made me like it more. Nice enough action. Good Chapter
13. Kinato's Magic 26
Fine enough chapter; this just makes me wish that Linae was an actual part of the other arcs and not just “an extra in the first three chapters”. Her dynamic with Kinato is quite fun and her motivation is interesting. I wish we saw more of Jien vs Noise tho. I don’t really care for the villains and their reasons.
14. Someone Hertz 44
I thought they were gonna hold hands for a second but sadly they didnt. Not much to say for me other than cute!
15. Cannon Master 7
Great art. Overall okay chapter idk, it looked cool and all but not much happened lol. Didn’t expect the finance guy to get rescued instantly
16. Class 2-B: Hero Destroyerz 15
I guess 15p per chapters will just be the standard for this series now. Don’t really got much to say. Jiro is a nice addition to the cast.
17. Sakamoto Days 270
Ignoring the context; the action was really cool and Nagumo looked hot asf. Hate how everyone comes in at the end to help like Shishiba man u almost died 3 minutes ago and now ur fit again? Just stretching this all out for no reason.
18. Hal Formula 8
The zero error page was cool. Hinokura is still just a fine enough character idk. I don’t care too much about the actual racing in this series that might just not be for me.

Issue 36:

1. Hunter x Hunter
It's so cool how open battle is finally happening, yet at the same time it felt a little sad how fast it was to read this chapter without walls of text. Just shows how Togashi can make everything entertaining.

Three of the main princes are already at each other and we all know Benjamin's plan won't work on Tserriednich, but being predictable isn't a problem here because we're waiting for years for these interactions to happen. Now the beasts are loose.

2. Nue's Exorcist
Yeah, Kawae truly draws my favorite battles in the current magazine. This flows so well it's almost like he's drawing a fighting game, you can see the motions and imagine the commands you would have to input like this is Blazblue or old school Guilty Gear. I'm glad he cares so much about this and isn't afraid to draw several panels.

As for the characters, it's still following up on the idea of the Human Yagyo fighting the beast siblings. The swordsman full of techniques against brute force. Very neat way to give nuance to this conflict.

3. Hero Destroyerz:
Sorachi is the master at making up a joke that comes as non sense at first, but he keeps reusing it a few times in a row in different contexts and it becomes hilarious. The pyramid bit was great at this.

4. Animal Signal:
Usually I give this manga a vote because they know how to make Kokone very cute, but this time they get the vote for making that wolf cute.

5. Cannon Master:
Pretty fun aerial battle. Everything in this feels so properly planned and well drawn,.

As for the others, Kinato feels like it could end in 3 chapters after the villain randomly explained their backstory and goals, but I'm not sure I feel the same about Drawn to the Fire and Sakamoto Days, though this one is a big series, so it might just end a bit later without having to worry about the batch's order.

Fine enough chapter; this just makes me wish that Linae was an actual part of the other arcs and not just “an extra in the first three chapters”. Her dynamic with Kinato is quite fun and her motivation is interesting. I wish we saw more of Jien vs Noise tho. I don’t really care for the villains and their reasons.

Biggest fumble of the manga. Kinato isn't interesting enough to be the solo focus of the story and it felt like Amemiya was afraid of alienating the "fujo fanbase" by having Linae as a co-lead, so instead you get characters that feel like he put no heart in, like the generic rival dude. Also, he would be wrong anyway, he can have relevant female characters and still get attention from the crowd that likes hot guys.

He did the same things with Shadow Eliminators in how it often feels like he's drawing stuff chasing popularity instead of what he truly likes.

Nah Witch Watch got a couple more in it. Shikimi will probably resurrect Roswitha at least for a couple chapters. I think we can also except like 5-20 final SoL chapters / first dates / Nemu x Keigo after that. My guess is February 2027

The new one shot just feel like a rehash of the same old formula over and over again. Boy with power meets girl, exorcise something, start adventure... there is really nothing that makes it stand out

I'm a bit annoyed too, but there are some aspects that I feel make it unique, mainly that instead of utilizing mystical powers for exorcising evil spirits, it is more reliant on technology in a way that reminds of Ghostbusters in a positive manner.
If Kawaguchi does decide to come back with an Exorcism series, I would like it if it has a similar aesthetic to this one, where its world could be an Exorcism take on something like OPM where many exorcists rely on high tech gadgetry, with a select few capable of using special powers to exorcise evil spirits.

This opinion gets tossed around like everywhere online but it's kinda crazy to me how enriched the first chapter of Kagurabachi gets on reread, especially with every little bit more we learn about Kunishige's upbringing. Takeru is in his bag with this shit I love it so much.

Sakamoto Days is the kind of series that can just end in one quick epilogue chapter after the final battle ends but I do think Witch Watch needs a final stretch of slice of life and school stuff for all the different side characters' stories.

It seems like Kiyoshi is doing another human world after first after all with them going to the Academy which is good. After how quick it went from the first to the second Great Demon Lords, I was concerned it would immediately start on the 3rd one after this granny intermission part and be done by the 3rd anniversary but it looks like it'll won't be that quick to conclude. It's turned out to be a really fun series so it'd be a shame for it to finish that quick.

This issue's HxH chapter was probably the quickest to read in years. We usually get some character infodumping the current situation or explaining their own power to themselves for several pages but this week it was actually proper things happening the whole time.

Now that we're fully caught up with the martial law in Hunter x Hunter we get a pretty straightforward confrontation featuring three of the four eldest princes. Pretty brutal stuff in having Benjamin and Camilla both be tied to these waiting games of who outlasts the other thanks to their nen beast/curse put upon them - neither one of them is winning this war, 100%. Terri is back too! The promise of him entering the action in a serious way is one of the most enticing prospects of the arc and it's just about to come around for real (which makes that final page even more hilarious).

Also, exceptionally cool website I found which gives a full breakdown of this Succession Content arc which can be viewed by character, chapter-by-chapter, mapping out the Black Whale layout, and all the storylines. Roku's House of Oddities and Under Doctor had their best respective chapters of their series for me. It seems like they're the winners of the 2026 newcomers so far and even though neither has megahit futures to them, I'm happy with that. Roku swapping out full-on comedy for a balance of action and emotion was the perfect decision for it being at the front of the magazine. And this pair of UD chapters leaning into the emergency/hospital drama just reminds me how much better this stuff is than the straightforward action focus. It's almost comparable to Blue Box in how it often didn't show the full matches for Taiki and Chinatsu - it showed enough and focused instead on how that affected the characters or the post-game consequences. The reflection/interview moment to cap off this chapter of Under Doctor was actually the perfect finisher along with that double spread.

Cannon Master remains a breeze to read, pleassssseeeee let it have the best first ranking of the batch, pretty pleaseeee. Hal Formula was once again boring while it's on the tracks, sadly. WITCH WATCH suddenly feels like this arc could wrap up in the single digits, and then we could have another volume's worth of comedic/character wrap-up afterwards. Very end of 2026 or early 2027 feels correct. Sakamoto Days has three chapters left for this volume, I believe - I'd rather it end sooner than later but it'll be tight if it does. Ideally, Drawn to the Fire would be gone with it + Kinato's Magic in the coming weeks but it might just be the latter in the end.

1. Witch Watch: I thought this would have been the penultimate arc, but it looks like it can be the ending for real. The story took a very dark turn at this point, and the final showdown was very well setup. I still have some hope that this is not over from the fact that many characters should reappear for the final battle as the trope demands, like Miharu's gang or, more importantly, Ran.
2. Akane-banashi: After all these chapters, every character has been shown and analyzed at this point, and we saw all kinds of possible Rakugo performances. There is only one who lived in the shadows, showed no interest for his chance to perform and whose turn we never asked for...so now that it is finally his turn, the curiosity is at top level! Go Zensho!
3. Roku's House of Oddities: It went exactly as I predicted, but it was not a bad thing. Sometimes, what matters is being able to tell the story you are supposed to tell, and this chapter was a fine example of it. It is still a comedy series at its core, but the chapter showed that there is enough depth to deliver occasional heartwarming moments, and seeds are planted for an eventual battle/action turn. This is a work of maturity.
4. Under Doctor: As always, those chapters about humanity are the most enjoyable for this series. I like that Haiji recognizes the authority and the analyzing skills of Samejima, even though his judgment is superior, and that he respects them. I also liked Samejima at the end ready to accept that Haiji is on another league. So, mutual respect despite disagreement, this is a good lesson for the kids reading Jump.
5. HunterXHunter: All hail Prince Benjamin! Immediately jumped at the top of the list of my favourite princes, because after years and years of ponderations, walls of text and absurdly complex plans that didn't move an inch, the guy finally said "screw it" and started to blast off people left and right, giving us the first 5-minute read chapter in ages.
6. Shinobi Undercover: The highlight of the chapter was, of course, Op coming back. His first order to Yodaka is to have him lose all the character growth he developed in his absence, but it doesn't matter, the winning team shouldn't be changed!
7. Someone Hertz: The chapter looked like an hommage to Roku and his house of oddities to celebrate its cover. If that was the case, it was a great idea because this chapter felt more engaging and fun than the norm for this series. Well done!
8. Kagurabachi: It didn't reach the peak of last week, but it was a good chapter nonetheless. In this world where everyone from every faction is determinated like crazy, It all boils down to who is more willing to go to insane lenghts to see the success of whatever they believe in.
9. Ichi the Witch: After a long top 5 streak, these latest chapters aren't the most unmissable, but technically they are because they are setting up another arc or greatness (hopefully). For this one, we needed a reason why Amadoro would accept all those people into her mission, and they provided one, so I'm already satisfied.
10. Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi: This series continues in its mission of being a safe "comfort zone" where you know what to expect and it delivers. I know that in this topic there is a lot of discussion about sales and ToC position for this series but I am not much into it, I'll just say that as long as it will be in the pages of Jump, I will enjoy it. I only feel sorry for the gang that is now going to miss the summer festivals.
11. Nue's Exorcist: I only remember that they fight for the whole chapter, showing off new moves and new powers. Good chapter for the action enthusiasts, but not much more.
12. Sakamoto Days: We are going towards the route that everyone predicted. It's like those games where in post-game you may get to fight against the main character as a bonus, and he's strong as hell. Even in this case, the Aveng Order had to assemble just to have a chance.
13. Hal Formula: Safe but efficient wins this time, I am happy because this is more my style. My fear is that, when reckless but fast will eventually win the race, the lesson will be that such recklessness is necessary to become succesful, and in this series it means risking your life at every circuit.
14. Cannon Master: The series is still good but this specific chapter didn't convey that many emotions. The minister is still shady, for example how does he know that Bharat is a wind elemental?
15. Drawn to the Fire: If you ask me, the opponent fell for a very stupid trick. Of course the playmaker would try to pass the ball to other teammates, if the ace is marked constantly. He got one-upped, but he only has to blame himself.
16. Class 2-B: Hero Destroyerz: I was somehow convinced that only Class 2-B was brought to the Demon World, but if it's not the case, there is no reason for the other classes to not join their cause and working to come back home as soon as possible. Surely there is no need for a civil war when in the human world, the parents of all those students are worried as hell about their children.
17. Me and Roboco: One of those chapters that don't click, with the positive of being focused on the Golden Generation (I love that this is canon) and the negative of having somehow achieved the goal of placing the vignettes in decreasing order of fun, save for the last one that is pretty good.
18. Kinato's Magic: A lot of lore drop in this chapter, So much that one may even think the timing is a little suspicious.. .these doubts and the mandatory fanservice shot are dragging the chapter down.
19. Animal Signal: Good idea to introduce a new character who also seem strong and menacious. Bad idea to have Tsubasa ridiculize him immediately for the love of animal gags.

Crash? The anime literally put all Chainsaw Man volumes in the Oricon Top 50 through is entire run making each of the former volumes surpass 1 million copies, it was a success, meanwhile Bocchi manga sold 100k ~ 150k in its peak and quickly dropped after. Of course not saying Bocchi isn't a big success i know how popular the anime became.

Tbf, there was a point of time where everyone believe the csm's sales trajectory was going to be bigger than jjk post anime (it was looking that way too) and then it didn't even end up managing to sell better than mha.

It only took until the reze movie to outdo the jjk 0 movie in terms of boxoffice but we all know jjk has since been a much bigger ip now after jjk s2. That dream gojo vs sukuna movie would do bonkers.
