I don't think he is even capable of holding back due to Cath.

Because there hasn't been a need for him to power up , he's been taking out fodder so far but now he's gonna power up to overcome Ominous Nebula.

He does need it , to block the demon realm's miasma , that's what Zeldris said.

An enormous force field of magic... it seems to be blocking the miasma from the Demon realm.
I feel like I've seen it somewhere... ...could it be the magic lake that absorbed the Seven Deadly Sins' combined technique and protected Britannia during the Holy War?

Edit: Also if he wanted to protect himself he would only need to release enough energy to cover himself, not use this enormous energy ball.

Didn't he use it to attack the 3KOTA and the grail knights at the beginning ?

As for why it seems big in the Demon Realm , I think it's just an artistic choice from Nakaba , it doesn't appear that big in some panels.

You said Lancelot hasn't used this supposed power up because he didn't need to power up, but he also didn't need the energy ball against the 3koa and yet he used it.
What's the difference?

It is highly likely that we're going to see Dark Hazy Moon when Lancelot starts powering up next chapter, and the magic field's aura will change from light to dark.

It will be just like the one he pulled out against the Four Evils.

Although I'm not sure what the dark color is supposed to represent or why his magic changes color like that.

Personally , I think it represents the power of his magic vortex and the stream of magic coursing through his body when he's at this state.

If Lancelot pulls out the dark Hazy Moon then the glaze about him being Demon King Level or superior might be true.

And then Nanashi is frightened because Lance is getting ready to attack.

Lancelot absorbed his attack and one shot him with a kick after that. Anyway, he doesn't have transformations and already unleashed his power.

It's no different from saying that Gawain powers up because she is focusing her magic in her punch. Lancelot isn't holding back.

A surprising showing by zeldris. His ominous nebula has held out more than I would have expected against lancelot. Ultimately there's no way this will last, zeldris has zero chance. Last chapter it was said lancelot came to the demon realm because he has no connection to it over the others but the same can be said about the goddess realm... Most likely the actual reason lancelot picked this one first is that it is the one where he is most likely to be defeated given the world's toxic nature.
