is it the Edited Mangas...or the publishers??

The publisher started editing the more violent scenes in HxH with black bars, I believe around the start of the Ant saga. What's sad is that most of the editing remained in the published volumes. Nothing we can do. I think Nexgear has tried redrawing certain panels like when the cheetah rips the fingers from some police officers and eats it. I guess Togashi has toned down most of the violence in order to get around that nasty censorship. That black bar was much worse than a mosaic.

It seems there is a chapter 280 this week since I saw spoiler pics on Nexgear.

That makes 10 Chapters!? I'm surprised Togashi has lasted this long without taking a break. What's sad is that I like HxH so much that as a fan I forgive Togashi for that excruciatingly long hiatus but he'd be really testing my patience if he took another long break...Hopefully his next hiatus will only be a week to a month this time.

I'm also curious about why HxH doesn't have it's own separate section instead of just this thread...maybe it's not as popular on this site as I thought it would be.

I doubt that's the reason.
Hunter X Hunter was on hiatus when mangahelpers became big.
Probably was no reason to create a sub-forum on a stalled manga.
Would've been no activity.

Your right. Thinking about it, there'd be no point making one now at this point. Not until there seems to be a definite steady release of chapters.

That's indeed the reason why there's no subsection despite the large amount of fans this series has.

And the hiatus will most likely be a long one again. They announced with the release of chapter 261 that the manga would only return for a single volume, with all the material that Togashi had gathered at that time (meaning all these chapters had been availlable at the shueisha office already, back then). So... there's really no telling how long we'll have to wait this time, but one or two months sound a bit optimistic in my ears... >_>

Well, there have been only around 110 posts in this thread since the manga restarted, so it isn't that much discussed here and there was no need to create a subsection (even before the new break)
The Naruto chapters spoilers threads make more on a single day on thursday and friday when the credible spoilers / raws are released.

And damn, if the chapters were already written long ago, it sucks. I thought Togashi went active again, but apparently not ?

No, check the cover of chapter 261, it says "returning for ten weeks!!" or something of the sort. A few weeks before it's return, Shueisha had said that Hunter x Hunter's return would be one volume only.

So yeah, we'll have to wait again...

Chapter 270/volume 26's final page was great, though, wasn't it? Netero's casual thumb, Gon's flaming spirit, Pitou's approaching doom, hehehe.

It's, in my opinion, been one of the best Hunter x Hunter volumes ever, this new one.

He's not giving him the thumbs up, by the way, he's pointing to where Nefelpitou is located, to show Gon where he's supposed to go to. (Remember, the King wasn't in the throneroom, where Gon was initially headed before he spotted Netero c.s., so he didn't know where he was supposed to go at that point).

Why would Netero want gon to fight pitou if he(pitou) was healing a human ? What is the reason for the thumbs up, a pointer or a signal or maybe neither ?
Anyways, what about the anime , does anyone know when they will make the anime after they did Greed Island ?

gon's in charge of slowing down/disabling pitou. and netero only pointed in *that* direction. about the anime, there's no news to that. if they plan on making one, then they'd have done it a long time ago.

The plan was:

Gon/Killou vs Nefelpitou.
Morau vs Hauapufu.
Knuckle/Shoot/Meleoron vs Montutyupi.
Ikarugo searches for Palm.
Netero/*mystery friend* vs Meruem.

So yeah, that's why Netero tells him where Nefelpitou is. So far, only Killua didn't keep to the plan. as for the lower-than-royal-guard-ants, unaccounted for are still Hina, Werefin, Zitoh, Brouda and perhaps a soldier ant here and there, and we don't know where Leol is, at this point?

There was a Chimaera Ant Arc (first part) OVA in production, but it was cancelled because there wasn't enough manga material yet, so they're probably waiting for the arc to finish before they animate it, on the other hand though, the wait's been so long that there's a distinct possibility of no new animation being produced anymore.

Since the anime did sort of end conclusively...

eh? didn't leol died of carbon dioxide poisoning? wasn't the plan before they infiltrate the castle is to kill every ant that blocks their way? killua got a few. so did morau.

and, surmising killua's decision, it seems he plans on searching for palm, all the while killing the other general ants.
