Big bro, the question wasn't about affairs in the first place. It was merely "hitting on". If she did not allow the 2nd guy to hit on her, she might have had lesser chances of knowing if he was better or not.

Sometimes it's done unintentionally though. Because sometimes people get carried away and really enjoy the moment because it can be intoxicating. But when they get to reflect on things at a wider perspective, they see clearly.

Thats not racional... i know "love isnt racional", but people are... if you start falling for a commited person, you have to limit your contact... why is that person better for you??
