Re: Bleach 640 Discussion / 641 Predictions I really liked this chapter, I'm really glad we're finally getting into nemu's origins. Also I'm surprised the ESR are turning out to have so much depth. Unfortunately I don't think the other three will be as interesting as Pernida.

I'm sure he's talking metaphorically, not literally. He killed the "girl" who would grow up, find love, and all that. Instead of getting that, because of the spell he taught her he doomed her to being cursed and stuck in time like he is.

Actually now that you mention this, maybe it was Zeref who never truly understood or understands the value of life? Look at it this way, in his flashback after his brother Natsu died he said he could never come to terms with it. That could mean he was so overwhelmed with grief that he couldn't...
