Not really. Sanji experiments already made his body naturally stronger and more resilient than almost every body else. There's a chance that he won't need conqueror haki to deal with the holy knights, which would probably stablish him as the most advanced weapon in the world.

Completely changing an ending with a few pages is basically impossible and would make the overall story even worse. Adding more details to things that lacked a little bit of attention was the right thing to do with that he had available.
