I just thought of something. What if narutos mother is also nagatos mother? I know that's just a bit crazy but I think narutos mother has some kind of tie, or maybe I missed the backstory on that anyway.

I really think it will just be a last minute save by Itachi stopping Kabuto. Madara is too strong a player to be left in the game, also with Tobi on his way it only makes sense that this challenge would pass but then they would be confronted by Tobi.
