in many ways he beat kuma by doing what he did. not in a fight per se but in terms of helping luffy and the crew the most. if zoro hadn't offered to take his place, the entire strawhat crew could have been destroyed. that's a win if you ask me. odz was a group battle, and the strawhats beat...
