Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2012-2013] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 4

Saki Hasemi was one of Yabuki's assistants for Black Cat. There is a very good chance that both of them work on the story and art together. As for Shougeki, just because the artist did ****** doesn't mean they have to focus on ecchi stuff. The author/artist of Yotusba& used to draw ****** and I...

Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 1

It's a what if story that ties in with a new Dragonball Z game, so it's not canon.

Mag Talk Weekly Shounen Sunday (Shogakukan)

Re: Weekly Shounen Sunday (Shounen Mag by Shogakukan) I'm not suprised Onidere is ending, it constantly ranks in the bottom and doesn't sell. But I'll still be sad to see it go, I enjoyed reading it.

I'm thought Medaka Box got close to Beezlebub sales, but I reckon Kuroko should get an anime before anything else now that Toriko's been announced. Inumaru would probably make a fairly good anime but it probably won't get one.

Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk

The point I'm trying to make is that, by normal business standards, a company would not cancel something that is making them money. I don't think HxH was out of the bottom 5 once when it came back this year (though I could be mistaken) but it wasn't cancelled, until recently Medaka Box was in or...

Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk

This is my point exactly. But as I said, volume sales and merchandising is where the money is at. An anime usally helps sell more volumes of the manga which means more money for Shueisha.

Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2 I agree that this is a possibility. It just seems unlikley to me that a top selling manga would get cancelled from bad rankings when volume sales is where the company earns money. They earn no profit from the magazine. Business...

Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2 The fact that TLR has started up again in Jump.sq pretty much, in my mind, confirms that it wasn't canned because of bad rankings. It even got a new anime that's currently airing.

Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2 Psyren had bad sales as well as bad rankings which is why it got canned. Mago has good sales and an anime to help increase popularity, it's in no danger of being cancelled. To-Love ru is a good example of a series which...

Mag Talk Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 1

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2 TL-R wasn't cancelled though, Yabuki ended it because of issues with his ex-wife. Volume sales are the most important thing because that's where the money comes from. Shonen Jump the magazine doesn't even make a profit. The...

Shounen Medaka Box by NISHIO Ishin and AKATSUKI Akira

Medaka was always abnormal, which was the reason she was elected, and the story simply introduced more abnormals, even all the student council members were shown to be above average from the start. This was all pretty obvious from the start, at least for me.

Shounen Medaka Box by NISHIO Ishin and AKATSUKI Akira

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying the genre switched all of a sudden. The series was clearly action-like from the first chapter. People just wanted it to be more Sket like when it clearly wasn't going to be.
