Oof, I only got 10 right I think, probably my lowest score even in quite a few years, but hey, I guess that just goes to show how tight some of the races were this year. I wish Chalamet had won, but I can't be mad at MBJ scoring a win for Sinners, even though I feel like Chalamet's performance...

Thank you for making the thread and for mentioning me! I haven't been around but I just remembered to check in, sent in my picks. It's a tough year with lots of strong contenders, but I'm riding the Sinners train more than any other film for sure, although I'm not siding with every single one...

You've probably heard/read enough about it already, but "Sinners" is absolutely worth the praise and should be experienced on the big screen. I might go see it a 2nd time on Imax, which I've only done once before for Dune 2.

Been meaning to ask this as well, haven't been as active here as of late cause I started leaving a review for everything I watch on letterboxd, on my third year doing that.

I'm going next Tuesday only because I scored some IMAX tickets. I think I've only seen the first one as well as Prometheus so I'm really not that attached to the franchise, we'll see.

Looks way too much like a fan film to me, and imo the cgi looks really... not up to standard, let's say. I understand that it's a much much smaller film compared to the other ones, but at first glance it looks really subpar. I guess it's cool seeing a new installment take a "smaller" approach...

I seem to have gotten 18 right but I imagine with the tie breaks and everything I probably ended up with a lot less than that, expecting Monkey to take this one once again.

:cookiestare I was actually surprised at the low number of favorites I ended up with this year, 9 out of 220 total films, almost half of the usual number, maybe I'm getting a bit too critical... I liked "Past Lives", really incredible, especially for a directorial debut, but it was missing...

My favorites from last year: Godland Pacifiction Fast & Feel Love Poor Things Riddle of Fire Perfect Days Riceboy Sleeps Saltburn Inside The Yellow Cocoon Shell I hope Poor Things sweeps but Best Picture feels like it will be a strange and unpredictable race this year.
