hmmm yes you are correct there. still with itachi being such a forward thinker, i am not convinced he was naive enough to think that madara and sasuke would never talk. the whole "hmm amaterasu at the sight of madara should do the trick" was bypassed way too quickly for it to be the big plan...
even though he was apparently in poor health, he still had plenty of opportunities to kill sasuke. i really cannot understand why itachi would let sasuke live. if he really did want konoha to be at peace he would've taken sasuke out, knowing that should he die madara would corrupt sasuke sooner...
sorry i cannot agree with you on that one! itachi's death was always quite unsatisfying for me. he died trying to get sasuke's eyes which in the end was just some bull story. his death really just didn't make sense to me. if itachi really did dislike madara, i don't think he would've let himself...
