I was reading this chapter last night (see below). Where the Skull Knight hints that Guts will only be able to "fight the war" or "save that person", that person being Caska. Perhaps if he chooses to fight the war he would have to use the behelit, sacrifice Caska, to fight Griffith. Or choose...
