Derous is dead. Melk excavated the fang for Komatsu's knife from his fossilized body. Unless there's more than one Derous, which is possible.

A small observation. Mahmai Moi, who we know as a member of NEO, mentioned about going to space again soon. Could this be an indication that NEO's objective, the Final Land, is in space (rather than the centre of the earth)?
