Well, I am just suggesting, this could be a possibility and the same time an opportunity to redeem Kaguya, since I don't personally believe she is a pure evil.

So since Kaguya was portrayed as crying, maybe there is more to it. Maybe she is not the main antagonist of the manga, maybe she is being controlled or somehow influenced by the tree itself?
