Well even I have to admit 1 thing for certain, Itachi seemed like everything he said was truly for his and his purposes alone, however, Madara, whether weak or not, is HIS teacher, and Madara would probbaly figure one way or another to manipulate the situation more for Akatsuki and his goals...
